We did. Rockets were longshots going in. They were longshots coming out.

Lakers are better off in long run by striking out honestly. Get Kobe off the books and hopefully have another high lottery pick. If Randle and Russell grow into their potential and they hit on next years lottery pick. They'll have money to spend and unlike the Thunder, they'll spend whatever it takes to keep a good core together.

We might look back in 5 years and wish LMA chose the Lakers keeping them playoff bound but not championship material.

To an extent, but I also don't think it's not a coincidence that New York and Los Angeles have crazy taxes and few players want to go there. The tax issue matters big time.

He said don't kill the messenger. He's just telling you what he heard not telling what he thinks. He thinks Morey is a genius.

Their pick is only top3 protected. Chqnces are even if they tank they will miss it. Minny and philly and new york (looks like) are still around. The nuggets too.

I actually think the only time Cyber has to be "taken with a grain of salt" is when the Lakers are involved. It's pretty clear that whoever his Laker news comes from is HORRIBLY biased to the Lakers.

Brandon be like "Hey, where's my 5-year $70M contract?"

Here is what I said, justtxyank.

Ashamed of what? If Love is willing to sign a 5-year deal at the max this offseason, then he's not worth going after because he feels like he's going to underperform or get hurt at some point next season and not be able to come away with a max contract next summer. He's basically nailing himself down into a role player on a max contract that is concerned with injuries.

I'm okay with that scenario in regards to the Rockets. Don't really want the guy if he's wanting to lock in long-term as a role player when there's more money and a much bigger role on a contender on the table in a year.

ASIDE: To all of you posters that think this thread is better without me, you've spent about a hundred pages farting around with a totally ingnorant poster and 90% of the posts during that time span have not been basketball related. If that's your idea of a good thread about basketball then I'll sure leave it to you to just pile page upon page of disparaging posts about each other. LOL

    Looking at Dragic's 5yr/$90m, can't help but thinking about Lowry's 4yr/$48m

I never thought those guys would be worth $140m!

Sorry that it's Kennedy but it's funny:

I'm hearing the Dallas Mavericks were one of the first teams to reach out to Jeremy Lin last night. Lakers are long and far away from being relevant. The only big time free agent on the Horizon is Russell Westbrook and he is not as needed with De'Angelo.

It must hurt bad getting rejected so often. On the bright side they have bird rights to Lin.

Missing out on Lowry last summer still bugs the hell out of me.

You realize that EVERYONE is locking in on these long term deals right?

You were just wrong. Again. It's ok, just admit it. Players don't gamble on their health and sign one year deals and risk losing millions of dollars. The only one who might do it is Lebron and that's because he is a franchise unto himself.

All the others are maxing out.

My bad, meant to add if they get a top 3 pick and hit on it.

    Not that they'd say otherwise....
