I can't speak on behalf of LaMarcus because I'm not him and don't know him. Anyone who says so is full of it. I'm talking about if your are looking to check all the boxes of what a star athlete looks for its hard to make a case to go elsewhere IF the money lines up. Since LaMarcus is a star athlete that has never sought out major off the court fame before in his career, is at an advanced age in his career, and has seemed to have been somewhat happy in Portland over the past decade, I can only make assumptions based on history about what how important lifestyle is off the court. 9 months in San Antonio??... Go ask a NBA player how often they have free time during the season to enjoy the city they are residing and how often they are on the road? You are in a new city twice a week typically that isn't your home town. Also one thing one of my friends I grew up with that plays in the NBA told me a few years ago was to not underestimate playing in a Central Standard Time Zone city. Due to travel on both coasts it shaves off tons of travel time during the season. Its apparently one of the reasons why OKC was approved to be the Sonics new home. I love Houston, and really do not like SA as a city (although I love the hill country, and lived in Austin/San Marcos for years). But don't get your hopes up just because of that. We don't have to have hurt pride if a player chooses to play for the Spurs over the Rockets. Some folks here, not saying you, are obsessed with winning July. The Mavericks DEFINITELY "Won July" last year, and were applauded around the league, and among the media. The Rockets were criticized. How did "Winning July" last year work out for the Mavs in May/June of this year?
