So Dwight is going to help recruit? So isn't that a great sign meaning Dwight is all in and doesn't mind losing touches?

Why would anyone choose to win for some scrub coach that lost in the 1st round this year over a coach who drove his team to the Western Conf. Finals?

Why? I thought the organization was unhappy with him disappearing on the team last year.

Possibly not if the Rockets have to trade Ariza, D-Mo, Capela, Dekker and god knows who else to obtain LMA. I am not sure that Harden and Howard and scraps are better than Duncan, Kawhi, Parker, Green ...

Harden and Howard are still better than anyone on the Spurs right now (obviously Howard is declining and Leonard will soon overtake him most likely).

But just the fact that we have a top center in the league anchoring the defense next to Aldridge should put us over the top. And Harden was 2nd in MVP voting. We were better than the Spurs last season, both the regular season and the playoffs.

I agree, I do think that players like him. I am just thinking from an experience standpoint Aldridge might prefer a proven coach. Pop is definitely more respected around the league than McHale is, and it isn't close.

This is all assuming that Aldridge is serious about winning 100%.

Everyone was sure Howard was going to the Rockets. He was not returning to LA that was for sure.

Nash has no idea what it feels like to play for Byron Scott. He's just someone who knows how to articulate how great a place LA is to be for a star athlete.

I don't think that "Entertainment" angle is going to sway Aldridge too much though, imo I think Melo and Dwight both cared about that stuff more than LMA and neither of those 2 signed with LA anyway.

How long will Duncan, Parker, and Giniobli be around though? I trust Morey to fill out the Rockets roster if we get LMA.

Also, sorry, back to basketball. Got distracted there.

Doubting the LA rumors. If he's there for Demarcus, then once he sees how gutted the roster will be after the trade I just don't see him buying into that.

To me, San Antonio makes a lot of sense, but I also think we make a lot of sense. The problem is of course that we have no idea what LMA really wants. I've heard: 1) He wants to be back in Texas 2) He wants to be the man 3) He wants to be on a contender

Unfortunately for him, if those are true, he's going to have to lower his expectations. There's a reason Portland couldn't make any real noise in the playoffs, and I think it's largely because LMA isn't the number one guy on a championship squad. SO if those things are truly what he wants, then he needs to know which are the highest priorities and go from there because no team can offer all of them.

The way I see it, LA fills none of those desires. They aren't in Texas, Kobe is the man, and they won't be a contender even with Cousins after all they have to give up. He also loses the most money in LA. At least in Texas, we can offer him the tax relief and the infinitely lower cost of living.

If he had predicted the Harden trade to Houston I would be very impressed though.

Just wanted to clarify that my post earlier wasn't as much of a slight to McHale as it probably seemed, he definitely did well last season and I give him credit for improving as a coach.

That being said everyone knows Pop is the better coach at this point and he seems like a better X's and O's guy than McHale is.

How long will Pop be around though? I don't think LMA wants the uncertainty of when Pop will retire.

I can't believe we've even had the discussion of LMA to Houston…it's so far fetched that it's not even worth our time. Less than a few percent chance from the onset.

It was always SA or LAL.

And for those that want to chime in that LAL sucks…maybe for one year, but they only have 5 million on the cap for the following year. They will get whoever the **** they want to get because they have tons of money…and they're the Lakers. Plus, LMA lives in LA.

We really need to end this LMA talk.

Haha cyberx. I hope he has as much luck as he did with Dwight. J/k. I prefer he go to the lakers over the Spurs. I think if dmc joins it will be without Russell and randle though. Anything less and the kings are smoking crack.

I could be wrong, but I thought Pop said he will be gone with Duncan. But the Spurs will probably remain the best sports franchise in the world.

I disagree you'd have to send out Ariza, Dmo, Papa and Prigs to make it work but you could still resign Smith and Brewer and have the MLE for Llull.

    Llull/NJ
    Harden/Terry
    Brewer/Dekker
    LMA/Smith/Jones
    Howard/Capela/Harrel

    Pretty sure that's doable.
