I am firmly for keeping Ariza but I am wondering why we didn't just trade him during the draft if we are really going the Love/LMA route. The worst case scenario would have ended up having cap room + someone like Jamis Winston, Aaron Booker or Myles Turner. I guess it really just hinges on the idea that we have to remain championship ready. Ariza trade=trade that clears room and brings a veteran in. Can't just throw in Ariza in a Sign and Trade for either guy.
Ill feel bad if Ariza gets traded away from us again, especially after he killed it in these playoffs. Gotta do what you gotta do I guess.
You can be a playmaker at the PF position. The Rockets need somebody who can create their own shot besides Harden.
Any Gm will not trade Ariza during the draft day if u can't be 100% sure to get some free agents like LA or Love; and i think Morey will be hesitate to trade Ariza although if we can get AL or Love
Aldridge is one of the best "garbage shot" players in the league. (He can hit tough shots at the end of the shot-clock)
I guess what I mean by playmaker is a guy who can set other people up with easy shots LMA doesn't srike me as that type of player, Blake is a playmaker at the PF position he gets his and sets people up
I am really excited about the next two weeks to see what Morey does to improve this team. I really want LMA and a new pg. Getting the two together will be tough though.
Why prematurely trade guys? More likely than not that Love and Aldridge AREN'T coming here. ... Where I once thought Morey saying "We want to bring back all our guys, keep chemistry, yada, yada, yada" was just lip service, I now think that's their likeliest course of action. Maybe a tweak here and there. Is that good enough? Who knows. Time will tell. West won't be any easier next year.
I don't disagree. Just need somebody to take the pressure off Harden. That can either be another ball handler who can set up others, or another great scorer who can keep the defense honest.
I do believe that LMA will come here and Ariza is probably not going to part of the trade. Dmo is more on the line of what Portland will ask for.
