He has been known to throw players under the bus and not own up for his lack of coaching defense. He likes a lot of iso ball in the half court set but above all he likes running the ball so he's more inclined to having a PG and a wing.
He has repeatedly traded away and badmouthed his star players with leaks in the press. He did the same with Ray Allen and Melo. Now mcGee..insane. if they get Rondo as well..i feel bad for kings fans but they sure provide the comedy for the rest of the league.
There were also rumors of him wanting to trade Gay for Wilson, Lawson, and Faried or something. Lol he wants to bring the whole Denver team to Sacramento.
That would be good for the remaining teams. Cousins would have played half his career for the Kings. Now there is a chance he walks away.
If you look at Lakers history, it can probably acquire Cousins by trading Lin, picks and a bag of peanuts. Basketball reasons.
lol @ Karl wanting to make the Sacramento the Nuggets of 2012-2013. I always thought Karl was overrated. Only got out of the 1st round once in 9 years with the Nuggets. He's a good regular season coach but his coaching isn't built for the playoffs.
They didn't fire any coach he had an issue with. They fired one coach he had an issue with. More importantly, they fired a coach he liked who was getting him to play hard day in and day out at a time where they were nowhere near contending. Why the hell did they fire Malone? That was idiotic. Malone is not an amazing coach, but he was doing a fantastic job of developing Cousins. Subsequently, Cousins went super immature and apparently tried to block Karl's signing. That was wrong. Ask yourself though why on earth they hired Karl so quickly with nothing at stake late last season? Why not wait till the summer and make an informed decision? Cousins has shown himself to be so good that it's worth consulting him on decisions like these, even if only to make him think he has a say. A recurring theme for me, but the quality that's missing here is exactly the one many people ignore when they say "why is Phil Jackson considered so great when he had MJ and Shaq/Kobe?". This. It's coaches that can tame the MJs, Kobes, Rasheed Wallaces and Dennis Rodmans that excel. Coaches that make a player with a 20mil salary sit on the bench an entire season and still buy into the team. Karl is a great basketball mind, but he's never won a ring. I acknowledge that Cousins is being a brat. Unfortunately, this is a competition and a business and Cousins is the rarer commodity. They will not get decent value for him especially now that Karl has joined Cousins in full r****d mode. They don't need Karl right now, look at the roster. Bring someone in who'll help Cousins mature for a year or two, nothing would be of greater value. He's a generational talent, but also a generational hot head. I'd still try to nurture that. I remember what it was like when we were desperate for a franchise player - the well looks really dry for teams other than LAL and NYK. Seems odd to say, but Cousins needs a McHale and an Olajuwon.
Dwight+assets for Boogie? That's not a bad trade, right? You telling me Vivek doesn't want a marketable star in the house? As good as Boogie is, he is not exactly the guy you can put in as the face of the franchise.
Dwight, though, is a special case. The Rockets did a lot of tap-dancing and whatnot to get him two years ago. You don't just up and trade him unless he privately says it's okay. And he'd likely leave Sac-town high and dry in a year. I'm not opposed to trading him if the haul is good, if simply because I wonder if he'll opt out and leave in a year anyway. But maybe Morey would be okay with the resulting cap space.
Lakers has nothing to offer. Kings would be too stupid to offer Cousins after so many years of work. If Carl were the original source for this, he would deserve to be fired.
I disagree with that completely. With things the way they are now, if I'm the Kings I go ahead and take that #2 & Randle and call a runningback dive before the refs have time to review the play.
I mean, we did his agent a solid with not picking up Parson's option and he walked away with a max contract. Also, Cousins and Howard are both represented by the same agency. I don't know if that works for or against this but it's obvious there is some synergy Fegan utilizes with his roster of players.
