Ok, I was really into this show before last night and now, I am absolutely addicted to this show after watching last night's show. I missed the episode a few weeks ago where they finished the Commanche bike. Finally saw the finished product last night. WOW!!!! Paul Jr.'s work is really a work of art. Amazing. I know a few of you watch this show (like R2K). Anyone else watch it? I think overall, this is one of the best reality shows out there right now.
I watch it whenever I can, awesome show. I really hate those guys at Discovery though, they charge so freaking much for an episode of any show on DVD. Maybe I can download the ones I miss, I haven't tried it yet.
codell.. I saw it as well, the first time I had seen it. I wasn't aware it was a regular show.... That comanche bike was pretty awesome.. They should have smacked those guys though for trying to put it together too soon and screwing up the paint job is the show week to week about making bikes and taking them to different shows or what, I only saw part of it last night
Basically, that is the jist of it. The episodes show the details in the fabrication (usually 3 episodes cover the building of one of the bikes). IMO, what makes the show is, the Teutel family themselves. The old man and his son fight like wild dogs every show. They REALLY get into it and you can tell they aren't doing it for the cameras. There is another son on there, Mikey, who is like the opposite of his brother and father. He provides the comic relief (apparently, he is kind of a loser and that is whats funny). They had a pilot episode about a year or so ago where they built the Jet/Discovery Channel bike: Here is a link to all of their theme bikes (including the Flash Bike which they have never shown on TV): http://www.orangecountychoppers.com/ver_html/occ_nf_themes.html
codell.. thanks for the link . be amazing to ride one of those.. on a similiar note, what exactly do you have to go through in texas to get a motorcycle license, I belive you have to take a course or something to get it added to your regular license?
I missed it this weekend and on its normal slot on Monday.. but it must have been a repeat, cause I saw the episode with the finished Comanche bike a few weeks back. The episode I saw last week had Paul Sr and Cody working on his first chopper, an old skool basic chopper...I havent seen the final bike, but it looked great during the initial put together.. Have they got the parts back from the paint shop yet? Probably happened last night didnt it? anyway..the Comanche is badass...I saw it when they revealed it at the Myrtle Beach bike show.. Sleek, dark and it looks like a sweet ride..
The acutally finished the Old School Chopper a few weeks ago (before the Commance bike was even started). It turned out to be pretty nice. The paint job was like a burganday with a gold scroll design on the tins (I won't spoil the whole episode since you haven't seen it, but something really cool happens in this episode). I am still partial to the theme bikes though. I read on their website that they sell about 140 bikes a year. I know most of them sell for at least $50,000. Do the math and add that to whatever they are getting from the Discovery Channel for the show, and that place is probably pulling in $8-$10 Mil a year. Remind me to email you a photo of a bike I am going to have built by Iron Works later this summer (I am still working on talking the wife into letting me buy it). It is too cool. Very similar in style to some of OCC's bikes, but not quite as expensive.
I started watching this show a couple of months ago. The first episode I caught was where they started working on the Black Widow. I think I've seen all of them except the ones where they are working on the Commanche bike. A friend of mine has a custom bike. He's easily put about 50-60K into it.
I saw the gold scroll on the tank in a commercial for the show a few days back...It shouldnt be a problem getting caughtup since they are re-running most of those shows for the rest of the month. When do new ones start? Beginning of Sept? I thought they were sayin in August...but if you look at the schedule..It's nothing but Comanche/Old School and Mikey's Bike until after the 24th. EDIT:correcting my own post....I did some more searching, and Mikey's Bike is supposed to be the first new one of the new season. Is this the case codell? have you seen an episode about Mikey's Bike before? I haven't, but I havent seen all of them so it is possible I just havent seen that one.. Rocket Fan...I dont know about taxes...but you do have to pay to take the test or is it a license fee? Anyway, just like you have to pay to re-up your drivers license...you have to pay for a M license(motorcycle). Just like the first time you got your drivers license, you have to take a written test and take the road test with the DPS person to get the M license.
Fireman tribute is incredible! If you did not see the episode of them making it, try to check it out. The rims they had made were unbelievable.
The Dad in this show cracks me up. He looks pretty mean, but everytime he has an argument with his son it sounds like his voice is shaking and he's about to cry.
