Just got hit on 59/610 near the Galleria by a non-insured kid.

Did a bit of damage but nothing drastic.

    Police took down details.

I only have third party/liability insurance. So what are my options?

Option 1: Pay for your car to get fixed
Option 2: Don't pay for your car to get fixed and leave it as is
Option 3: Get a new car
Option 4: Sue the kid. And ultimately end up doing one of Options 1-3.

Your only right as someone with just liability insurance is to take the kid to small claims court. The court can and probably will find in your favor, but the court will not and does not make the person pay you.

If they don't have the money, they aren't going to pay you, that is why uninsured motorist insurance is worth every penny.

Option 5: Ask the kid to pay for the damage.

If he doesn't pay, there are also a variety of illegal options including kidnapping his mother, slicing her ear off, mailing it to the kid, and then asking again if he has the money for you.

Option 6: Be the one who knocks.

Haha damage isn't crazy. But Statefarm just told me I do have UMI but it's $250 to claim it. Which is a bit less than the damage.

Kid said he'll pay for the bumper so we'll see, just need him to follow through. Time for a new car hahaha
