If what people did "in the moment" was ok, then so is going back and recapping it (and laughing at those people) after the moment has passed... There's nothing wrong with highlighting people who are just flat out wrong. Especially since McHugh did this very same thing in 3 of his last 4 starts (rebounds after a rough early start).
As I mentioned... batter 1 - Strike out batter 2 - arguably a 'beat the shift' single batter 3 - double from arguably the best player in baseball batter 4 - intentional walk to A - not face Pujols, B - set up DP batter 5 - DP to end the inning None of that was 'terrible' as you mentioned in a previous post. After the fact you posted McHugh was 'terrible' in the first inning.
very garmish those few of us who have been in the Astros forum for the past several years while most were ignoring the team, will have to get used to the garmification of what was a great forum
OK, third time you have recapped the inning for me. Thanks. I watched it. And as i said before, I am not talking about the outcome of the inning. Just saying, during the inning it felt like it was going to be another bad start.
If you get better at predicting the future, let me know. There is some money to be made in that IF, you get better
I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings but I think it more lame for people to b**** and complain about individual ab's in the first inning...especially when he got out of it without giving up a run. And then to continue complaining as the game went on...when he ends up going 8 and giving up only 2 er. Seems kind of silly to me that McHugh has lost all benefit of the doubt that many of you have. Yes, he had a bad stretch. It appears that he's coming out of it. I think it speaks to his toughness and resiliency that he's about to keep things from snowballing while keeping his team in the game. I realize it's a message board and many people type their feelings in real time. I'm just pointing out that it's stupid to make the judgements that were made when the guy ends up pitching a very solid game...one that helped save the pen a day after they had to put up a lot of innings.
Leroy, don't call me out later for this. We all know everybody was thinking the same thing in the moment.
Careful....we might adjustments mid-game and take a pitch or two; then you'll get attacked for this comment.
