Sell the Pellies their pick back. I will take no less than Anthony Davis and a future 2nd round pick.

I really wish people would stop sharing Alex Kennedy tweets and cluttering this board. He is a pure amateur with no real sources, mostly speculation and regurgitating tweets from the pros, so doesn't add really anything to our discussion except clutter.

inb4 the "People doesn't know someone who knows Dwight Howard?"

Why is that relevant if we shot roughly the same percentage from the line that they did? Unless GSW is able to average more than 1.31 points/possession (which, for all I know, they probably were able to, given our porous defense), shooting more free throws is, on average, a good thing.

If you were to look at the series stats that I linked in my previous post, it's pretty apparent that our main issue was giving up too many offensive rebounds, which ironically was one of our strengths all season long. Our shooting wasn't enough to overcome our rebounding struggles, as the Warriors shot at a higher % than we did, both from 2pt. range and 3pt. range.

Sure, Dwight and Smoove didn't shoot well from the line, but that was to be expected. Free throw shooting was not the deciding factor in that series.

Except Dwight and Josh were bad free throw shooters before they got to Houston too.

And as to you people who think two 30 year old men are going to miraculously become 70% free throw shooters after an offseason of shooting practice - NAME ONE EXAMPLE IN ALL OF THE HISTORY OF THE NBA OF THAT HAPPENING!

I can think of some young guys who improved their free throw shooting substantially - but nobody does it this late in their career.

The 2015 FMVP was shooting 35.7% FT in the series and he was still the FMVP.

Don't you want to see the Mavs be terrible at drafting or trade down in the draft again? :

Yeah, completely disregard everything else he did, and focus solely on his shooting percentage. That's the way to prove your point!

What was it that he did exactly? Hold Lebron to 35/13/9 while putting up a stunning 15/6/4?

I don't get your point, where is the connection? You are not excited about the draft because the draft pick won't put us over the top?

Free throws isn't the reason we got knocked out of the Conference Finals (try having the starting point guard out and the starting pf who is the best big man free throw shooter we have), it is a part of it but an extra ball handler who can pass is what we need. Before you get down on the player we draft not being able to help just look at Capela or Troy Daniels, they came out of nowhere to contribute.

So you're going to let the frustration of FT shooting by our big men disgruntle you on draft night?

    Allllllrighty then.

We need another playmaker in the backcourt next James, bottom line. Unless you like him wearing down and being completely gassed and unable to push through a long playoff run. See GSW, CLE etc. When one of the splash brothers are off the other can pick up the slack. Rare both guards are off at the same time. It's a guard driven league yada yada yada, especially at the point. See what happened when Kyrie went down, completely different series with LeBron playing all time great by himself.

FT's won't matter if Harden can't get help carrying the team in the regular season and beyond when Dwight begins playing.

    Enjoy the draft man.

    I'm trying to woo-sah from the stupidity of Mchale and Moreys philosophy on player development. Seems they can care less. More of Mchales brilliance to come next year c;

While i agree about no team beating the Rockets if our bigs shot 70%, the reality is that our bigs will NEVER shoot 70% ever!Well maybe DMO might down the road, but that is it.

I just don't think that the person we draft tomorrow night is going to have a big impact on whether not we win a championship next year. I see teams pulling the "hack a whoever" on our PF's and C's unless they improve and/or Morey makes a blockbuster trade to improve.

What will it take to win a championship next year in order of importance:
    1. Better FT shooting
    2. Better offensive sets
    3. Improved PG play
    4. Improved post play

Teams can only "hack" Howard and Smith if he's back with the team. Our other big men can shoot well enough to where that would be suicide. No one hacks 60% FT shooters.

I guess the OP does not care much for the draft picks the Rockets selected tonight.
