It makes a lot of sense, actually. Lowry is gonna be 30 years old and paying him 12 million dollars in his declining years makes no sense for a team that has clearly shown it is nowhere near being a threat to winning the NBA Championship. Masai is a smart GM, I think he trades Lowry for D-Mo and the #18. Obviously, Papa+Prigs thrown in there for salary matching purposes.

    Lowry ($12,000,000)/Beverley ($6,000,000???)
    Harden ($15,719,062)/McDaniels ($1,600,000-Split MLE)
    Ariza ($8,200,000)/McDaniels ($1,600,000-Split MLE)
    Smith ($4,000,000-Split MLE)/Jones ($2,489,529)
    Howard ($22,359,364)/Capela ($1,242,720)/Dorsey ($1,015,421)

Lowry/Harden/Ariza/Jones/Howard/Capela/Dorsey account for $63,026,096. The Salary Cap is a projected 67.1 million for 2015-16. I would try to lure Brewer back, but if not then the Rockets should just focus on using the bird rights they have on Beverley to re-sign him.

Just like with Bledsoe I'd give up anyone outside of a Ariza and H & H. Any combo of players/picks The raps want

If you can make the Prigs, Papa, Jones/Dmo # 18 for Lowry trade and if Llull accepts the MLE you can bring everyone but McDaniels and Bev back.

Smith for the $2.5, brewer with bird rights, Terry for the min

    Lowry/Llull
    Harden/Terry
    Ariza/Brewer
    Dmo/Smith
    Howard/Capela

This team wins 60+ games and title, if healthy.

I would trade DMo - The raptors would probably want him over Jones unless that back is super serious. He showed some great strides this season and he would he be with his national teammate in Jonas to bolster the front court.

DMo + #18 + Kostas and maybe a resigned beverley?

I dont know how salaries would be able to get matched to make a Lowry Deal work given that we keep Harden, Howard and Ariza

oh man oh man. that would be a dream scenario. seriously if they pulled that off that could be the best rockets team in franchise history.

Wow. That team would be unbelievable. And imagine a year from now if they added....nah, that could never happen.

If we got Lowry I'd rather just resign Beverley and offer the MLE to a different position. And trade Lull's rights.

if he can score and pass above average in both regards as advertised. i think he would be the perfect first guard off the bench.

brewer ariza howard capela smith dmo will be able to play a combine 148 minutes. that would average out to 25 minutes per player.

I'll take the known commodities and keep 2 assets out of it. 48 minutes of Beverley and Lowry sounds excellent to me. And is Lull even coming over here to play off the bench? I guess there aren't many places he'd start.

Well obviously he'd wanna join that team since there's a decent chance they'll be coming off a title. I just don't wanna fantasize about a roster like that(even sans Durant). What's scary is that's not entirely unreasonable for Morey to put together depending on what the Raptors want for Lowry and how serious Llull is about the NBA.

That would be nice but the Raptors would have to be high and drunk to do that deal.

    I want to believe!

There's no way we trade Jones in that deal. Ujiri is not that dumb. He would likely want (at least) DMo and Capela. I mean, unless they're planning to trade Demar as well then Lowry is their biggest trade piece - so from their perspective, they damn well better get some good stuff in return.
