As you could tell, I love Outkast. To me, they are probably the best GROUP in hip-hop. As for my man Mystikal, you need to listen to Tarantula or Let's Get Ready to see him at his best. Who can forget these lyrics........ Shake Ya Ass I came here with my dick in my hand Don't make me leave here with my foot in yo' ass; be cool And don't worry bout how I'm rippin this **** When I'm flippin what I'm kickin *****, that's just what I do I'm effervescent and I'm off that crescent Nastier than a full grown German Shepherd; mother****er keep steppin They don't **** with me and they don't Y'all b****es cant catch me and you won't Pay ya fare, fix ya hair, throw that p***y Got a Prada for boonapalist, and Donna for my babooski You think I'm trickin? b****, I ain't trippin I'm buyin if you got nice curves for your iceberg Drinkin Henn and actin like it do somethin to me Hope this indecent proposal make you do somethin with me **** a dollar girl, pick up fifty And **** that coward, girl, you need a real ***** Off top knick-a-boxers hurtin **** Bend over hoe; show me what you workin with! p***y Crook Dick don't fail me now (huh huh) I knock the coochie lining out (thas right) If I hit it one time ya hooked (and thas it) They call me the p***y crook (give it up) The guy has probably the best time and most distinctive delivery of any MC out there. Also I like DMX for the same reasons. Needless to say, I don't listen to any hip-hop in the car or truck when my kids are in there!
50 Cent and Eminem are the best out there now, in my opinion. 50's latest CD is my favorite all around rap CD I've ever heard and I've heard a lot of rap CD's. Eminem can probably flow better than anyone, both are awesome
I also have to vote for someone not on the list. Jin, is an up and coming rapper. Watch out for this guy. His single is about to drop within the next couple of days., it's called "Learn Chinese." Can't wait for his album to drop!
Dre is the man. I like eminem, but shady and 50 cent will be nothing without Dre. almost all their hits were using Dre's beat. I hate Ja Rule since he staring dissing with Dre, man, u just don't mess with the legend. For those of u who love dre, check out his new single with obie and eminem "**** hits the fan" over here. Dre was dissing Ja Rule like some little 3-year-old boy, u gotta love it.
All around hip hop- Missy Elliot Snoop Dogg will always be one of the best and I think 50 is the best current hip hop artist. Just like stated before on tv, Eminem and Nelly opened the door for 50 and 50 is opening the door for some people down the line that we are all going to be hearing for some time. It's out with the old and in with the new very fast in the music industry.
You must be Chinese, eh? Well I'll support him.... 50 Cent is currently the most popular...along with all those GET CRUNK guys from Atlanta. God.....how many rappers are from Atlanta?!? Lil Jon. Ludacris. Killer Mike. That big fat guy....? Jermaine Dupris. There's just too many! Ying Yang Twins...Eastside Boys..... Eminem hasn't released anything new recently... Nelly and Lil' Flip are my favorite. Snoop Dogg is still cool.... JA RULE is well hated but had some good songs a few years ago.... Jay Z and Nas are great rappers as well...
he's good at freestyle, but without a good producer like Dr. Dre, i don't c his feature. it did feel good when i saw him like kicking ass in 106&Park.
You need to download some of his old stuff if you don't think he can write. He has some tight beats as well. Just wait till you here "Learn Chinese" and tell me what you think.Download songs like "I don't know", "Hey Jin", and "Oh No (Diary of Jin)."He's about to blow. Well thats what I think. SLA, nope I'm not Chinese. Close but guess again.
so true. ATCQ - greatest hip-hop group of all time. the Roots are up there too, though. and Wu-Tang. gotta give love for da Wu!!!
Hey! No love for Smilez and Southstar?! But seriously... I've said the exact same thing many times. In fact, I posted the same section of lyrics you had in bold on the board before in another hip-hop thread. My all time fav Em song is probably "Til I Collapse." That song just gets you hyped! And no one can ever go wrong with Nate Dogg doing their hook. Nas is my sentimental favorite though. What other rapper could get away with a song like "I Can" and keep his cred? Plus, "One Mic" is just epic.
I don't think everyone that is a fan on Jin is Chinese or even Asian for that matter. He got a lot of peoples attention when he got into BET's Freestyle Friday's Hall of Fame. For Jin to have mainstream success he's going to have to cross over and get fans of all different nationalities. I think his lyrics needs work but its getting better as he writes more. I notice a improvement from his old stuff to his new freestyles. I'm going to get his ablum when it comes out and hopefully he'll open up the doors to other Asian rappers. Two of my favorite songs in 50 Cent's album was "Patiently Waiting" and "Don't Push Me" both having Eminem in them.
Eminem easily. the lyrics he uses, the way they flow, the beats and production, and the energy in his songs are amazing. my friend played The Eminem Show on the way back to houston one time so i got to hear some of the songs i hadn't yet. great album. doesn't em produce a lot of his stuff now w/o dre? "lose yourself" and "rabbit run" are my two favorite rap songs ever and "til i collapse", "cleanin' out my closet", "stan", and "white america" are great. even when he's playing around in his 3 lead singles "my name is", "without me" and "the real slim shady" he's hilarious and rhymes great. basically, no one on the list comes close to eminem for me.
I grew up on a lot of hiphop from Biggie, De La Soul, Pharcyde, Black Moon, Group Home, Gangstarr, The Roots, Outkast, Camp Lo, Nas, M.O.P, Tribe Called Quest, Common, the old Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop and Dre etc.........(I cant name them all) I cant choose a best artist but I narrowed it down to Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Nas. The Blackstarr album is a classic. Mos Def's album was a classic too. Kweli brings it everytime he touches a mic. His last album was a good one too. As far as Nas goes, he's been one of the best all around lyricists for 10+ years. For anyone who dosent have it, go and pick "Illmatic" Nas's first album. Also, "It was Written" and "The Lost Tapes" is another one to pick up. 50 Cent is the hottest rapper out right now but he's nowhere near the best. Also check out "Any Man" on SoundBombing II if you want to hear Eminem at his rawest. As far as Jay-z goes, he started out with a classic album in "Reasonable Doubt" if you dont have that one go get it. Volumes 1-3 were also good ones. "The Blueprint" was another hot album but he fell off HORRIBLY with 'Blueprint 2: Gift and the Curse" I hope he redeems himself with his next one called "The Black Album" I know you couldnt get everybody in the poll but Common and Scarface should've been in it too.
