Remember the name of this site. Who is clutch?

People complain about Cuttino. Moochie, Steve, Rice and others, but at least they have the balls to take the big shot.

Did anyone else notice that San Antonio almost lost the Championship because only Tim Duncan, with occasional help from Stephen Jackson and STEVE Kerr, could take the big one? When they tripled teamed Duncan they were in trouble.

BTW we also have Yao who can take the big shot , too.

Not too sure about whether Maurice can. From some reports Piatkowski is not that good in the clutch.

If the game's on the line, Steve's probably the best bet to take it. He came through a lot this season in the clutch. Moochie's not that bad either.

Stevie made some clutch shots this year. And one very clutch assist againt the lakers.

For some reason, I'm thinking this thread is going to bring out the "trade 'em all" sect of the bbs.

Mo Taylor was the go-to guy in the 4th quarter of many games.

Down the stretch last year, there were several games where Mo actually was money down the stretch - games where he was calling for the ball in the fourth quarter and taking (and hitting) tough shots.

Even Eddie Griffin was willing to take big shots. That is one thing I'll admit about this team. They all seem to be willing to take a chance and risk failing in important situations.

    very true.

steve hit countless big 3's this year and had 2 buzzer beaters last year.

cuttino hit a big shot in his first game ever and hit the tying 3 against washington this year and was 3rd in ft% in the last 2 minutes (90%) at one point this year.

yao is freakin' money at the line at the end of games.

mooch, who sucks, has hit countless big 3's.

eddie actually hit a few 2 years ago, and seems unafraid of the big moment (one byproduct of his horry-like laidbackness).

rice hit quite a few 3's this year when we were down like 7 with 30 seconds left and just trying to jack up 3's. most of the time they didn't mean anything but against the clips it did.

so basically, when the games on the line, we don't suck.

Tim Duncan is really not clutch at all unless you leave him 1 on 1 on the left post and think he will miss. He isn't that clutch or lucky.

    Stephen Jackson is clutch too.

Basically, I agree with "francis 4 prez". Our team has a lot of good players who can make a shot at the end of the game....

And we now have ERIC PIATKOWSKI.....THE POLISH SHARPSHOOTER? Is it sharpshooter or rifle?

Who cares about taking the "clutch" shot when this team can't hit the side of a red barn with a beach ball?! I saw enough "bricks" last year to rebuild the Tower of Babel. Give me a break! On a mediocre ".500" team like the Rockets were last year, a discussion of clutch shooting is irrelevant. So this team has "balls" and I am not so sure about that? I would much prefer "brains!"

I'm not positive, but I think I heard that he hit the GW shot against us this year. I think it was the one Yao goaltended that would have gone in anyways. I'm not sure though, I just read it here when we got him.

However, I don't know what else he did. He may have choked 50 times while hitting just 1 clutch shot or something.

I think Mo was great down the stretch for the first 10 minutes of the fourth quarter. The last two minutes I think he could disappear or become timid about shooting.

the point is, you're not supposed to have to rely on clutch shots

that's why we didn't make the playoffs

Give Rudy his due. The team reflected his personality in many ways, and this was clearly one of them.

Rudy always encouraged his players to shoot the rock when they had their shot. He only got peeved when good shots were passed up (see: R Horry).

How will JVG do on this account?
