Draft Devin Booker, sign Evan Fournier. That's a start.

Can you imagine Redick on this team?

He doesn't even need to waste all his energy (thus tiring him out for the 4th) running around 5 picks every possession.

This team generates SO MANY open 3 point shots. He would just need to stand at the 3 point line.

It's mind blowing how amazing this team would be with a competent pure shooter

well, our team was pretty patchwork getting Brewer, Smith and Prigs

Who do you guys blame for building a team that has set a record in terms of 3 pt attempts, but doesn't have one good 3 pt shooter on the roster?

The pure shooters were the reason Golden State won the NBA championship.

The Rockets should start looking for pure shooters in this off season if we want to win championship. Please don't acquire players who can't hit on damn free throws. That was the reason Rockets can't keep it up in the game.

We would go all the way if we have pure shooters. Seem like we don't have any on this team. Hopefully we can sign some.

This is very true. How many more shooters do we really need? Josh Smith, Terry, Brewer, Harden, Ariza can light it up but when there is no strategy to get an open shot it doesn't matter. The team looks like a bunch of JR Smith's who just continue to shoot. Ariza was an amazing shooter with the Wizards but the overly loose flow of our offence didn't help him much. We need strategists not just one in the front office but a couple on the court as well. Everyone will then look like amazing shooters.

To be fair, every one of those guys bricked a ton of wiiiiiiiiide open shots throughout the course of the season. There isn't a single guy on the current roster I would classify as a "pure shooter." I would say we have "a few guys who can shoot, sometimes."

Any thoughts about McDermott from the bulls? Rookie season wasnt great probably due to injury so id think he'd be cheap. But a pure shooter who can come off the bench. Had a great college career.

you need shooters but those shooters can't be sieves on defense. Golden State had shooters who bought in on defense. All the names being thrown around can shoot but they will have a negative impact on the other end.

We definitely do need some, I just don't see how we obtain them. With shooting at a premium, we would need the full mle to sign a player that is a knock down shooter that isn't a complete liability on defense.

Obviously, that means no llull smith etc.

If Marc Gasol leaves Memphis, I'd like to see us make a run at Courtney Lee. Good defender and 40% 3 point shooter. Also played with Dwight in Orlando.

The Warriors won because of their system revolving around ball movement. Curry is the only real pure shooter. When you have bigs like Green and Bogut who focus on keeping the ball moving and setting good picks, it creates more open looks and prevents offensive stagnation (something McHale has been trying to preach but we have too many ball dependent players).

We aren't that far off from GS (I believe we can get to their elite level with some small roster tweaks). They had tremendous luck with injuries all year. We do need some better shooting in place of the craptastic set of PGs and Jones/Smith. Morey should get more crap for letting go of some very cheap 3 and D SFs (James Jones and Covington).

I do agree with your point that we need better FT shooters. When you have players like Harden and Howard who draw so many fouls, you need to make teams pay for fouling anybody not named Howard. I can live with his bad FT shooting because he does so many other things to offset it.

I think it's becoming very clear why Morey wants Llull. There's practically no one else that will help us now and also with Durants FA coming up (very HIGHLY unlikely he signs here, wishful thiking on my part). I think Morey will maintain flexibility until then. Fortunately for Dwight, he now has DMo, CC, and Dorsey next year to play 5 if necessary. That will help him extend his career by playing less during the regular season.

Reddick was awful against the Rockets in the playoffs.

Problem with pure shooters is that they usually aren't great defenders (hence the advent of the 3 and D).Shared this sentiment when guys like Troy Daniels left, but the focus on defense is what gave us our success. Llull is also an above average shooter.
