It's not a heavy load. It's an excuse for Dmo not playing as well as some people thought he would. If Dmo got less minutes we'd be hearing about McHale holding him back or something.

I'm not sure where you got any of that from, his performance was fine....in fact it was a pretty big reason why the Rockets had such a good season despite all the injuries. The issue was a back injury that didn't allow him to keep playing.

Are you sure you weren't thinking about Terrence Jones when you are talking about excuses for awful performance?

Admittedly I don't know much about Upsaw, but he seems like the kind of huge upside flawed player you take at the end of the 1st.

The trade up was more about getting into the 1st than upshaw. If we draft in the 2nd round, we will need a portion of the MLE to sign the player to a 3 year contract. As a 1st rounder, we wouldn't need to use any of the MLE to sign him.

I have no idea what you are talking about to be honest. There is no holding back D-Mo anymore. He has arrived and Morey and McHale know it. And the fans know it. He will get every possible minute next season that he can play. He is obviously just that good. He came into the league as some skinny power forward and somehow has morphed into some hulking seven foot 270+ pound paint gobbling center. With a top five post game in the NBA and a real possibility to shoot 40+% from downtown next season. A max contract in the summer of 2016. I wonder if Morey will offer him 4 years at $12M/year this summer? It might be a bargain.

The actual question was whether D-Mo's minutes replacing an injured Howard contributed to his two herniated disks. I voted no, but others had a different opinion. And that is OK. Everyone has a different opinion.

No, it was first used before Dmo got hurt. People were talking about Dmo averaging 16, 18 points and 8 rebounds, when it didn't happen it was "workload" More like a load of bull****. Then it was guesstimated to be the reason he got hurt, even though 80 guys in the league played more minutes per game than he did.

So you are pointing out that people accurately suggested that DMo was hurt before that news came out? Sounds like they were on top of it. I'm not sure what point you are trying to make really.

What difference does it make how many minutes he played since he was obviously actually hurt? Should we knock Jones for getting himself hurt after only 4 games?

The point is, DMo ended up getting hurt while picking up Dwight Howard's slack playing out of position, and he did a damn good job of it. None of the other BS really matters.

Actually I am. And I do have the stats to back it up. D-Mo is obviously a top 15 defensive center in the NBA. And he has one of the five top post games in the NBA. And for the last three months of last season he shot 40+% from downtown.

I do recommend that you visit nba.com/stats before you start spouting off at the mouth again. There is a world of information out there for you. You just seem to be intent on proving your ignorance. Go on, makes me no never mind.

Yeah, KJ could be something special on defense. If he could sink a three point shot at a league average rate of course.

I honestly have no idea. I am attempting to impart some real NBA analysis here. And an understanding of how all of the pieces of the Rockets roster function together. I doubt it is working so maybe it is the wrong forum. I know no insider information at all.

Mercy, sorry if I came on strong with you when you said DMO is a hulking 7 foot 270 pound paint gobbling center, but no matter what #s you want to throw out there he's not even close to how you describe him at the 5 spot IMO. It seems as if you may be describing Dwight Howard who is a rebounding and shot blocking gobbler with opposing players thinking twice before attacking the paint when he's there. THis might be twisted into Dwight can't shoot the 3pt shot and DMO the paint gobbler can ect, but DMO really is a PF who's got phenomenal low post moves and a good BBIQ. DMO can still fill in at the center position in spots against certain matchups of course.
