I wonder if this is going for the Sharknado angle... attempt to be serious but it's blatant comedy. With Wiig and Ferrell doing something like this, there has to be more to it.
Even in the trailer, it's barely contained deadpan. "What does she WANT from us!?" "I don't KNOW!" It looks completely hilarious.
Why would Ferrell do this type of movie? He doesn't want to be type-casted? This movie is hard to take seriously because I know Ferrell is making fun of the entire situation.
Ferrell is an isotope. He can just sit there with a normal look on his face and still radiate irony. That Runner's World cover he did a few years ago just cracked me up.
