    Yup.

This isn't simply "LOL the Astros made some dumb trade requests" like what ended up on Deadspin.

The amount of information contained in these databases is astounding, I'm sure.

The Cardinals are gonna get roasted.

I would imagine folks responsible are going to prison, no?

Note that the word "alleged" was not used

I don't think the hacking is alleged, that actually happened. They didn't name a perpetrator in that statement.

I mean, you or I most likely would if we did this to a competitor at work.

Can the Astros sue the Cardinals for damages? Not only should the Cardinals be punished, but the Astros should be compensated.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they know exactly what happened. This should be the most traceable and provable offense there can be.

Now they just have to make sure its all handled in the proper steps and nobody gets off on a technicality of mis-handling evidence, or improper search/seizure.

Probably something in the MLB Franchise Agreement that prevents teams from suing each other.

in my country, you get firing squad. in EEUU, you get life in prison or death. It is only fair the Cardinals give the astros, Carpenter, and three or their most high rated prospects along with 2 picks in the next draft.

I'd say banning the Cardinals from participating in an entire draft (with the Astros getting all those picks) would be sufficient... just one missed year of prospects can make a huge difference in the long run (see Astros 2007), and the extra pool money given to the Astros will be plenty enough compensation.
