My library of movies and tv shows is growing, would like to share with whoever wants to share their library of movies and tv shows. It will be the biggest networking of sharing on clutchfans ever, let's do this!!!!
Do you need PlexPass to share libraries? My Plex build (old HP i3 laptop) definitely can't handle any additional load. It can barely function for my household. What build are you using for your server?
I have a lifetime subscription. Unfortunately, I have U-Verse - so sharing my content would cripple my terrible 1.5-2.0mbps upload speed.
I have a stream box which I then log into my roku device. It works fine, and you don''t need a plex pass. If you're going the streaming stick route, I suggest an Amazon fire stick, it has a faster processor. What's your username I"ll send you an invite?
I agree, Uverse is horrible but I manage to do fine when I stream content at about 1.5 mbps if it's not HD content. I'm fine with old movies not in HD because I still watch movies on VHS, lolololol
I've got a pretty nice sized library that I'm constantly adding to, plus I've got a fast network and rig that can handle additional traffic. I'd love to share libraries with you. My username is hewhoislunchbox.
Hahah, right? You have the room, yeah!!!!! I love bad movies!!!! I mostly have b movies and low budget horror stuff.
I have the fire stick. It does well most times, however sometimes it completely fails with the audio playback.
Why wouldn't I store it? What happens when I buy a digital download and the service changes, or I want to cancel my account? When I buy a movie, I want to take ownership of it. A lot of streaming services also have rotating stock and as much as I love Netflix, I don't have time to keep up with when my favorite shows or movies leave the service. You can find some amazing deals on digital downloads, sometimes even cheaper than renting it for 2-3 days.
how big is your library? there is a couple of subreddits for this if you didn't know http://www.reddit.com/r/SharePLEX/ http://www.reddit.com/r/plexshares/
Broadband companies still shut off connections multiple times during peak hours and will start enforcing data caps soon enough.
Plex is great! Someone has to download and store the media. Plex tends to compress too much, so if its a good show, I will go out and torrent an HD copy. I wish plex allowed you to download the content instead of streaming it.
