Yeah I totally agree that home schooling can be advantageous to a child if there is a set curriculum and the parent is diligent in forcing the child to learn. But I also think that there should be several outlets for socialization like Scouts, church youth groups, and team sports.
First fluff, then reality... You are NOT what you do. Work is there to pay the bills and help you enjoy living. Obviously you need to line up a new job first but hell ya dude, leave. I'm betting that if you expand your horizons a little and are willing to step out of your comfort zone you can find something that either has equal pay with less work or more pay for the same hours. You can do it!!! Keep your head up!
Since the thread-starter deleted his post, I have no idea what the thread is about. But, going on Chance's reply, I figured I'd tell ya'll something I learned. Apparently, Houston has one of the most developed and sophisticated home-schooling networks in the country. Groups of families get together, pooling their resources to create a sort of volunteer school. The image one gets of home-schooling is a parent trying to teach all these things to their own children. The reality in Houston though is that there is a lot of specialization: one parent will teach science to the children of several families and will leave, say, English to the parent of another family. The effect is (1) greater expertise in teaching than I'd thought and (2) a lot more social interaction between children than I'd thought.
Unless I am completely nuts, it was about how long drap works and how little he gets paid and he wants a new job... Just a typical rant but he needed to get it off his chest I'm sure. don't we all...
First, you'll want to clean the pecan halves. Make sure that no shell pieces remain. You'll want to be careful as you toast these. A counter-top toaster oven with a clean window is the ideal choice, because they go from perfect to burned in just a few seconds! Next, wash a granny smith apple and cut wedges, about 1/2" thick. I like to refrigerate the apple before cutting it, so it's icy fresh for the salad! For the greens, you can use a generic spring mix, but I prefer butter lettuce with a bit of belgian endive. Toss it with the apples and pecans, then crumble bits of stilton blue cheese over the top. Bring out the dressing that we made last time, and viola! A tasty salad that will wow your friends!
Waaaaay too much info...what you two guys do in your non-bbs time is none of my business. Also drapg...might I suggest investing in some white socks & cereal...it's a look the ladies simply can't ignore.
Sorry for the confusion. But a friend of mine read the post and called me to tell me what an idiot I was to post that, seeing as how it could fall into the wrong hands. Thanks for the sincere answer Mulder.
Well, having an opening post like this is a free post waiting to happen. We can talk (apparently) about drapg crappy job, home schooling, recipes or anal sex. I have to say I think the home schooling is the most interesting -- or was before Buck's reply.
No seriously I told the guy I needed 16 1 by 6 planks and he quoted me a price but when the delivery truck shows up he brought 2 by 6 planks! Can you imagine trying to use 2 by 6's? It took a few days but they got the whole thing straightened out.
