)))) oh my. quite the compliment. How many years under control do we have? When can we unload the 10 year 28 million a year contract on him?
Our schedule is going to get a bit easier record wise. Seattle/Colorado coming up for 10 straight games. We've caught some tough breaks, but this team will get it going again. Minor adjustments need to be made and further notes... Luhnow needs to evaluate getting a 3B and 1B who has a higher .OPS than the Carter/Valbuena tandem. Carter has the third lowest OPS among 1B in the LEAGUE. There have to be better options out there. Why not try Singleton or go after a Joey Votto or a younger 1B. Go for it. We have the prospects to do these types of things. I'm not trying to overreact, but the 1B position at the very least... needs to be upgraded. Unacceptable. I can deal with Gattis mainly because he's been hitting well recently. I think some more changes need to be made. And let's re-evaluate this Qualls thing.....
The good news is that Quintana isn't that good. But then again, our bats aren't right now either. A lot of rookie pitchers have had success in the MLB debut, hopefully Velasquez shows some good stuff.
Well guys, i've said it before, i dont like Qualls. I dont mind seeing him pitch with a 2 run deficit. Yes, we score twice, but thats because Robertson did not start the inning, so it does not matter that move, we were going to lose anyway. The problem, again, was the hitting, we could not delivered with runners on base. Valbuena is really killing us, BIG TIME. Maybe is time to think about Moran? Because Marwin nor Villar are options. Now, why use Fields with a 4 run lead for the other team?
Well, this team is going to hit homers, and thats all. Few work walks, and few high average. What i like is that we have a rotation, finally, with Velazquez and McCuller. Now, please, no more Qualls in the 7th inning with 2 or fewer run lead, please. Fields IS BETTER than Qualls. I think is time to see Moran in the majors.
We are just in a team wide funk right now. Basically everybody except Springer has terrible numbers during this losing streak. These things even up eventually, you just have to ride it out. Correa is already getting extremely good swings, and McCullers looks spectacular It's a tough losing streak, but I'm actually feeling even better about this club long term than I did entering the series.
