Well I've been living with my "fiance" for two plus years now and I didn't think that I'd be to excited about finally getting hitched. You know, take the vow, slap on the ring, get it over with. But now that she's scheduled a date and begun to make the arrangements I'm beginning to get worked up about the whole idea. The date is almost a year from now and I can't have a beer at the bar without thinking about who I'll choose to be the 5th and final groomsman. Which style of tux should I wear and such. And since my musical taste is, without question, pleasing to the ears, I've also begun to work out a playlist for the reception. Now for the BBS input. I probably won't have the revenue for a lavish honeymoon so any suggestions as a destination would be greatly appreciated. My wife. My wife. My wife. My wife. My wife. My wife. My wife. My wife. I'm ready to start saying that aloud. Bring on spring!!!!!
Congratulations. Don't forget to procreate. have you considered a cruise? Might not be as secluded as you would like but if money is an issue they're usually a pretty good deal.

Congratulations, man. Getting to know you're compatible for awhile was a great idea. My wife and I lived together for 4 years and then decided to get married... 25 years later and we still are. Hope you are as lucky as this guy.
I'm getting married in October. It's definitely exciting, although requries work, but worth it for sure. I spent a lot of time with the honeymoon - everything from the Pacific Northwest/ British Columbia , which has some nice resorts, to Costa Rica, to Australia / New Zealand. We have finally settled on Belize and Guatemala . We've never been to either place and the trip we have finally planned sounds awesome - from indigenous shopping to rainforest hikes to cave tubing, Mayan ruins, and relaxation on the beach, with some snorkeling and possibly sport fishing mixed.
Don't worry. I've made sure we're staying at some nice places. Not Cayo Espanto, which requires way too much cash, but places like Victoria House and Lamanai . See below.
dwil8686, I suggest Panama City Beach, Florida... but only if your honeymoon will be at a non-spring break time... There are really excellent rates in spring, right on the beach... facing west w/ sunset, sugar white sand, green water, nightlife, top 50 in USA restaurants, etc... I know I sound like a stinkin' commercial but it's really affordable, and worth it.. check out http://www.800pcbeach.com for the official chamber of commerce site... it rocks!! My wife and I just celebrated 7 yrs. with a trip there... BTW, congrats!!
Congrats man! go to www.tug2.net It's timeshare owners directly renting so that there are no middle men taking money. You can get some nice places on there on a budget. If you want to step it up to vacation rentals, then just google it. There's the Mexican Riviera...cheaper plane ticket from Htown. There's the Caribbean Islands There's Southeast Asia...expensive plane tickets, cheaper lodging and food There's all over Europe. Have fun planning and doing your wife.
Better you than me...er, uh...Congrats! BTW, if you need a band for the wedding, email me. Seriously.
The ring, groomsman gifts, how much are the parent's in for? All that stuff gets real expensive. I suggest reserching all your possible costs, make a list of what you want/can do, set a budget and stick to it. That being said.. Here's a fact of life: All the time when you were growing up, , out in the driveway dreaming about starting at SG for the Rockets; she was in her room dressing up dollies dreaming of the day she would walk down the ailse with all eyes on her. The Wedding is the culmination of all her dreams, there is immense pressure on her to live up to her ideals....She will go absolutley insane. It happens every time, you will not even recognize her as the woman you live with. You will become a minor sideshow to her main event, only tolerated because she can't get married without you. She will obsess about things like 'embossed or engraved' Stuff that makes absolutely no difference to you. This is normal, just don't take it to seriously. Second, after the wedding she will be depressed. Her day of being special is over and all she has to look forward to is endless laundry and dishes. I think that is why we take honeymoons in the first place. So if at all possible take her to a place she will still be catered to, like a beach resort with cabana boys and waiters. And most of all, avoid even looking at other women (it'll be to late anyway)
My buddy got us Flasks and some liquor as Groomsmen gifts.. I think that works well. If not, maybe $4 million diamond rings?
two words.. Las Vegas I got married on New Year's Eve in Vegas, then after the wedding, we saw Guns-N-Roses at the Hard Rock Hotel..
