Everyone everywhere except among ourselves has forgotten the HOUSTON ROCKETS.

Nowhere is there buzz, or even conversation, about new coach JVG or the tall Asian fellow or the vertical challenging (never challenged) two time all star.

There is no thought about who is needed to be added, who would be a good fit elsewhere. Nothing.

The HOUSTON ROCKETS should be a team everyone thinks about, but right now the nation has forgotten the HOUSTON ROCKETS.

The last time nobody thought about us, we won a couple of championships. I'm cool with the Rockets being on the down low...

The Rockets are one of the most popular teams in the league right now. They just got scheduled for 22 nationally televised games! I don't think anyone's forgotten about the Rockets, just because they're not the hot topic all the time doesn't mean anything.

WELL ACTUALLY....no one is talking about the NBA at all! Only Kobe Bryant....nothing's happening!

Even if a team makes the playoffs.....still no one cares about the Phoenix Suns. I do like Amare Stoudamire though.

And we are one of the most popular teams in the NBA! We were third in road attendance last season! But we were third worst in home attendance and third worst in overall attendance too.....

No one really cares about the national champion Spurs either...no one cares about Texas! It doesn't matter.....because Texas owns all of them anyways.

Unless the Rockets trade for Shaq, this won't change anytime soon.

Well I hate to say it but in the west... we're just another shmuck team..... we're down with the "shoulda' coulda' woulda' " with the clippers, warriors and other "full of potential teams". Let's start with selling some of our over paid players like moochie and motaylor. And putting in some real talent.

Short of having to mortgage the future by including Moochie in the Shaq deal, I would like to see some (positive) attention paid to the good guys. Some love from around these United States.

I believe a buzz will help jump start the JVG era and translate to some W's. Dadgummit, I want a lot of W's!

look at all the games we are on national Tv this year because of Yao and Steve. The season hasn't even started yet of course the Rockets aren't being talked about nor is any other team unless they made a huge Free agent accquisition or a trade. Kobe is taking the media attention and so is baseball. Football is also just starting. No one has forgotten the Rockets they are just out of the limelight come November they will be discussed.

I don't mind flying under the radar, it makes victory that much more sweet.

We were told that the Rockets wanted to make a big splash before opening in the new arena. But, we were also told they were willing to go over the luxury tax threshold. As it turns out, they're not willing to pay the luxury tax, after all. I don't think that bodes well for the big splash prediction. Forget about the Big Splash. The roster we go to war with will likely be what we have right now, plus 2 guys for the minimum.

We should let our superstars cheat on their wives, and let some white girl drap thier ass to the court sue them for raping, then we will be the hot topic again.

Did the organization actually SAY these things? I remember the CD quote about the luxury tax, but it left quite a bit open to interpretation. I remember nothing being said about a 'big splash'.

I have an idea, lets have JVG run up and pull Moochie's still beating heart from his chest during the season opener. People will remember the Rockets then.

Perhaps not what I have in mind.

I wonder how Tim is doing with the new arena, 22 nat'l games, the Asian sensation, the great NY coach addition in seeing marketing results year-on-year.

That's been my contention all along. Potential is a polite term for "you haven't done it yet". Until the Rockets start proving themselves on the COURT where it counts, they'll always be known as Yao, Steve and bunch of who? guys. Once they start putting W's on the board, people around the league will definitely start taking notice.
