Who do you think was the worst All-Star in recent memory? I'm gonna have to go with either Chris Gatling or Dana Barros. Every time I look at those guys I just think "how could they have been All-Stars?"

    So what about you?

Wally Scherbiatch. He is easily the most overrated player in the league. He can't play any defense, nor can he create his own shot.

Making the all-star team isn't based on career accomplishments but on season accomplishments and Gatling, Barros, and Hill all had all-star caliber seasons when they made the team. If I had to pick someone I would say Brad Miller but there was simply no one better in the East. Since when has a 13 ppg 8 rpg average for a center assured them a start at the all star game? However if I had to pick the best player never to play in an all star game I would go with Sam Cassell. He's had several seasons hovering around 20 ppg and 10 apg. It doesn't look like he'll be making too many in the future either.

Besides for Shaq who was injured, who played that much better as a Center in the west to warrant Yao as an undeserving all-star?

A Mutombo hack about a week prior to the 95 ASG sidelined him with a torn thumb ligament. Ironically, Mutombo took his spot on the squad.

The selection was justified though. He averaged 21.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg, .530 fg and had a 50 pt game that year.
