I think he's a very good coach. Some of those play out of timeout were simply amazing. Very creative and effective. Maybe his weakness is getting his *star* egoish player to mesh. Quite possibly the opposite of McHale.
Another problem for him is that he only plays six to seven people in the whole game, this is not a current NBA style.
This actually sucks if you're in the "Lawson to Houston" camp. Lawson would absolutely obliterate defenses in D'Antoni's offense, and I'm willing to bet D'Antoni marks Lawson as un-tradeable if he gets the job.
