I think the wolves would be wise packaging Rubio with 31# Shabbaz Dieng and trade with the knicks for #4. Take back calderons bad contract too. Then draft Russel and Okafor or Wcs. Helps both teams rebuild. Or Lavine instead of Shabbaz.
Well, he does also get you 0.7 assists in the clutch. You'e the one who doesn't understand Bricky's lack of game.
Harden was hanging out with Lawson! Not hanging out with Rubio As much as I like the prospect of signing a star free agent (Love or LMA), giving up almost everyone to get them (Ariza, Jones, DMo, etc.) is not great. We need a team, not just three star players and a bunch of makeshift NBA talents. No offense, but as long as LeBron (and maybe even Curry if you look at the free agents the Warriors were able to get last offseason) are still in the NBA, their teams are going to be getting first choice of great NBA veterans willing to take less to join a championship team. I would much rather go down the route of getting Lawson, Rubio or some other talent upgrade that won't break the core of this team. If between Lawson or Rubio, I would have to go Lawson because of the fact that he can score and playmake. Rubio is only a playmaker. We need a point guard that can make plays for others and score the basketball, if need be. Of course, Rubio has a sizable advantage of the defensive end compared to Lawson but we just played a full month and playoffs with Jason Terry manning the point against some of the best point guards in the NBA, Lawson can't be worst than 37 year old Terry, right? I really wish Conley or even Jrue Holiday were available. I think those two, Conley especially, would be amazing next to Harden in Rockets-Red.
He's talking up Seth Curry in another thread. He probably enjoys seeing how many people he can convince to buy his nonsense arguments.
people that have been on GARM regularly, know your position with Rubio. thats a given. you've repeatedly stressed that he would improve however, that's far from the case. Rubio is not a great player at this point and seems to have gotten worse as time goes on. his contract definitely is terrible in relation to the games hes played and how he contributes to winning.
Rubio's contract: 2015 - 12.7 million 2016 - 13.4 million 2017 - 14.1 million 2018 - 14.8 million The contract seems to be not bad since there will be new cap deal next year. If the rockets can not get anyone else, he is not a bad choice. At least he is better than Rondo, I do not think Morey will go after Rondo again.
Errr... he has said that Love is seriously considering to leave the Cavs. Dont think that was the info you were looking for.
I know this is looking at things pretty one dimensionally, but if you think about the core things we need our PG to do in this system, we need: 1. Guard Elite Western Conference Point Guards 2. Ability to shoot from outside 3. Ability to "playmake" / run the offense (knowing that our SG carries a lot of weight at a very high level) So on those three criteria: 1. Rubio is a step down from beverley 2. Rubio is a step down from beverley 3. Rubio is much better than beverley Not saying Bev is better at PG than Rubio at all - but the question is how do you weigh Rubio's strengths vs his weaknesses in terms of what we need and what we can get (or have ability to match) x rubio's big price tag.
I think we would be better off with a score first point guard. See Beverley vs Lillard Tony Parker vs Lillard. Why did Lillard play so well against Bev and bad against a guy who can't play D. This team needs Lawson or a Kyrie kind of player
I think we need a 3 and D PG above anything. We need Patrick to start making cuts and making the PG run around too
Rubio is a better defender then Beverley. His advanced defensive #'s are clearly better the Beverley's, more defensive win shares, better defensive +-, better steal %'s. On top of that Rubio has 3 inches on Beverley and a longer wingspan.
