To be fair, MJ played only the final 17 games of the 94-95 regular season.

Yeah, the 09 Magic beat a 0.500 Philadelphia team, a Boston team with a big three of Allen, Pierce, and Glen Davis, and a Cleveland team who's second best player was Mo Williams.

It doesn't get much tougher than that.

Haha, yeah, good ole JV of the nba!!! I'm glad the Rockets aren't managed like EC teams... However... If houston were in the east we probably wouldn't have had the playoff drought we've had, haha ECF every year!!

Yes he was completely rested and healthy and was able to drop 55 on the knicks.

Wish we could do that for our players

I don't care much about winning records because the two conferences are so different. SRS is probably the most indicative of a team's strength.

What it does not account for are:
    1. Injuries
    2. Styles' suitability for playoffs (some teams are great regular season teams but fizzle in the playoffs)
    3. Timing of peaking (Atlanta and Portland are prime examples for this year)
    4. Midseason roster changes

In other words, using regular season performances to measure strength of schedule in the playoffs is not an exact science.
