yessssss, plus he had a very good at bat in the second, sharp ground ball to 3b. Is a pity we have Pettis on this team
Not that it excuses a lot of bad choices he has made, but our team strikes out so much that it is hard to trust this team to get a necessary sacrifice. Down 4 though with 0 outs is just ridiculous.
Another runner in scoring position that results in a strike out. Good lord. Reality is that our offense is blah.
With 2 outs, maybe, depending on score and who is batting next. But losing by 4, no outs, it is just a very very very dumb move by that guy. It was AWFUL. And you know what is worse???? Is not the first, second or third time this clown has done the same thing.
when you make the same mistake, again, and again, and again, and again, that means you are dumb. yes Pettis, Villar, you guys are just dumb because making the same stupid mistakes again and again just tells us that. How in this world you make the great play and butcher the easy ones????? Pettis, how can you miss we are LOSING by 4, and send that poor guy to home plate???? Awfullllll
I remember Tags saying he made a gutsy call sending Valbuena who scored from 1st on a Carter single, and upon watching the replay, all I could think of was how stupid he would have looked if the throw was remotely on target. He'd have been out by over 30 feet. There is a time to be super aggressive and a time to not be. A 3rd base coach needs to understand that.
