winning 56 games isnt much of an achievement anymore given how much every team is tanking for a better draft pick.

From what I understand there's no personal state income tax in texas which sounds amazing. I'm from NYC and considering doing residency and working there in the future if only for the awesome tax! I would imagine anyone making big bucks would want to go to a state with low tax haha. government aint' getting my future monies!

There's other fees that include hefty registration and property taxes to make up for that ya know....

really!? damn it. i read from some websites that texas is one of the best states to practice medicine due to no income tax + low malpractice. Does the other fees cancel out the no income tax benefit?

If you live in a big old mansion in a gated community it sure does. They have to pay for public services in the state some way and I'm sure property taxes whether it be home or vehicle or the a combination would be how they make up for it. I guess you could live in a modest home and drive a used fixed up car to get your Texas money's worth.. ;)

You don't even live in Texas, and what you are saying is a bunch of made-up crap.

If you dont actually know what you are talking about, just dont talk.

biochem, do your own research, dont believe some rando on a online forum when making life decisions.

speaking of doing it over again, remember when we were going to trade Parsons for Rondo 2 seasons ago ? yeeeesh. maybe better than losing him for nothing, but if it prevents (salary wise) from signing Ariza then what a downgrade.

Property taxes in Houston were far less when I lived there than in Chicago, Columbus, Boston and other areas I have owned property. Texas is a great place to maximize your money.

Where does the money for public services come from then? Bandits plunder Texan Citizens and give a portion of their loot to the government so there are road repairs, libraries, fire stations, policeman, teachers, schools etc? I mean based on the shoes I see "I almost got away with it" "Jail Breaks" etc that take place in Texas that could be a way to explain it all.

He isn't entirely wrong though.....even if he doesn't know for sure. Texas generates its revenues from higher sales tax and local counties from higher property taxes. So you could live in areas with lower property taxes and just buy less stuff.

My parents spent close to $14K on the property taxes last year in Katy. I spent $3k on mine in Dallas. Just sayin.....
