There's no significant difference between these guys and who we have when it comes time to take on the Clippers and GSW in a 7 game series.
I think someone nailed it perfectly earlier in this thread. -Trade for Ty Lawson (give jones, kpap, and NO 1st.) -Sign Mario Chalmers for cheap (he shot somewhere around .250 from three last year so he doesn't have much leverage in negotiations.) -Primary signing should be brewer. - If you can get smith for cheap do it, if not? Try other avenues. - Sign some sharp shooters like Danny green or for laughs Luke Babbitt. Not sure if this all works with the cap situation. Just thought i throw in my two cents. Ty/Mario Harden/Brewer Ariza/Babbitt or Green Dmo/Smith Dwight/Capela if Mchale couldn't win one with this team... i don't know what i would say.
Aaron Books was an obvious keep for us especially at his three point shooting percentage and play making ability still unsure why exactly we traded him.
Bev (S&T) for 5 mil/yr, Tjones, and 2nd rd pick Knicks pick for Jeff Teague OR Bev(S&T) for 5mil/yr, Tjones, Papa, Prigioni for Kyle Lowry
I think the best thing we could probably do is trade for George Hill. Veteran guy. Playoff experience. Solid defender. Good contract. Won't demand too much in a trade. Jones plus a scrub at best. Yes, I'm talking about Kostas, that b*stard.
Ty Lawson is the answer. To get him the Rockets need to give up their 2016 first round draft pick, the 2015 NO draft pick and Terrence Jones for Ty Lawson. Let Patrick Beverly go and bring back Corey Brewer, Jason Terry and Josh Smith. 2015-16 Rockets Roster PG Ty Lawson - Prigioni SG James Harden - Jason Terry SF Trevor Ariza - Corey Brewer PF D-MO - Josh Smith C Dwight Howard - Capela This is a good roster.
That doesn't exactly explain it. He played well we all loved him, not so sure why he needed to be mistreated by the Rockets yet again.
So many guys here are blinded by hate. Brad Stevens would probably laugh in your face if you tried to tell him that Lin was worse than Terry or Prigioni (the 37 year olds you were alluding to). After Jeremy destroyed the Celtics (25 points on 10/15 shooting, 6 assists, 1 steal, 1 TO), Stevens was beyond effusive in his praise of Lin: (This was during the brief period after the all-star break when for some inexplicable reason Lin was actually allowed to play his game. And sure enough, Linsanity erupted. After several more games like this, the Lakers coach explictly told Lin to stop the pick and rolls -- can't allow him to ruin the tank, you see.) Remember, Stevens has Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Smart -- and I think the coach prefers Lin. I'll take Stevens' basketball knowledge and his judgement over yours any day, hooroo.
Rockets need an Eric Bledsoe type guard next to Harden. Someone who can defend, drive, distrive and shoot the 3 (while deferring to Beard). Going to cost too much to trade or sign such a player if he even exists. Draft Terry Rozier. Lets develop our own instead.
Why anyone thinks there is a real chance at either Teague or Lowry is beyond me. What about some realistic situations?
A PG who plays alongside Harden has to be able to do three things: 1. Defense -- because we don't want two bad defenders in the back court. 2. Shoot -- because that's what everybody needs to do when playing with Harden, unless you are a center. 3. Playmake -- because that's the whole point of this thread. Now please list all PGs who can do all three things well AND are available for us to have.
1) This could mean that Harden wants someone who can back him up at the 2 and just be as much of a ball handling threat. 2) Out of anyone, I don't see Brewer coming back and I also dont think Terry comes back. Tery might come back for chemistry purposes, but backup pg is covered ok with prig and hopefully improved NJ. 3) Im really excited about KJ. Defensively minded player who can do well on the fast break. thats a younger and better version of Brewer.
also have to consider cost, personality issues, etc. i cant think of no one. and that's why i am no d-morey.
