You know, this Jennings idea doesn't sound so bad to me. Imagine if we brought Bev back, and then let Jennings come off the bench to back up both Bev and Harden -- maybe even playing along with both of them in 3 guard line up sometimes. Jennings could be a 6th man of the year candidate (sort of like a new version of Vinny The microwave Johnson), give the team an offensive infusion off the bench, take some ball handler responsibilities off of Harden's plate.

Also, I think he could be gotten for pretty cheap. The Pistons are moving ahead with Jackson, and would probably love to clear Jennings out. He is only making around 8.5 mil, so the Rockets could easily acquire him for the Prigs and Pumpernickel expirings, with an asset of either Jones or the Pels pick thrown in.

Wow, that Jennings idea is really the best solution to the Rocket's dire need for a second ball handler that I have heard so far this offseason. He seems perfectly tailored made to what we need and what we have to trade.

Of course, Morey probably has something way better and completely unimaginable up his sleeve, so, I'll just go ahead and go back into my corner and wait for the master to unveil his latest creation.

I doubt Jennings would like coming off the bench with Beverley as the starter. Jennings is a much much better player than Bev.

Good call, Corey Joseph does indeed seem exactly like the kind of move Morey would make.

If he got Joseph to back up Bev, I think by the end of the season that Joseph would be the starter.

You're right, he is -- but Jamal Crawford has been coming off the bench behind people he is better than for years. Almost all of the great 6th men do. I just think Jennings would be perfect for that role, and that McHale (former 6th man of the year for the Celtics) would be the perfect guy to get Jennings to accept that role.

That said, whether he backs Bev up or Bev backs him up, I think the two of them would be a great guard complement to Harden.

Deff agree they would compliment each other very well. Making a play for him would enable us to keep our core intact too guys like DMo and Ariza would be off the table in a trade for him I would assume

You guys have to remember we need some D not just offense! Can't remember the last time I saw Brandon Jennings or Crawford D up.

Jennings shot 40% from below the three this past season, can he finish at the rim?, doesn't board, weighs like 170lbs...don't want that scrub or selfishness on our Rox team

So, what's going on with Alessandro Gentile?

He put up some really good offensive number in Europe this year. Is he ready to contribute in the NBA?

I think it should be clear that Harden cannot play with a ball dominant PG. Even when he was on the Thunder they had to stagger his minutes with Westbrook.

He needs a PG who is a good passer, good spot up shooter, and doesn't need to handle the ball.

It was never the Lin fans that were bad, but the trolls pretending to be his fans. Notice how they are still here.

And Lin was pretty good during crunch time. He scored most of our points during OT, and saved the ball after a Harden turnover to pass to an open Daniels. He was also critical in Game 5 last year.

However he is not a good fit next to Harden so I wouldn't want him back.

I can't stress this enough.. Mo Williams is a perfect compliment for James Harden.

I actually don't hate the idea of Jennings, the more I think about it. A little risky, but.... I don't know. I don't haaaaaate it. He still seems fairly close w/ Josh, for what that's worth (likely nothing).

Can people stop suggesting him? Mo Williams is bad. And old. And doesn't play defense. The guy shot below 40% from the field and 34% from three and averaged 2.5 turnovers. No gracias.

Maybe that's a little over the top, but I just don't see him as an upgrade.

This is a terrible argument. He played with TWO of the highest usage players in the league. Harden's last year in OKC, those two guys took 39 shots between them.

When you put three 18 shot guys together, someone is going to be the odd man out. It's exactly like what happened in Miami to Bosh, and Cleveland to Love.

Obviously, we only have one guy like that , so their is plenty of room for another one.

I really wish people would stop saying this. There were definitely legit fans who made things miserable here. There are easily 25-30 of them on my ignore list who were insufferable and haven't posted here since he was traded. It isn't an indictment on all of his fans, but pretending a lot of those people weren't legitimate is a joke.

    Mo Williams
    Brandon Jennings
    Jeremy Lin

You guys are discussing dime a dozen point guards here. These are all guys that can throw up some points but they're terrible defenders. Any of those guys in the backcourt with Harden and we are worse off defensively than we were with Jet/Prigs next to Harden.

Now, if you want to sign one of those guys to a minimum salary deal and let him come off the bench backing Harden up and running the show surrounded by 3&D players....then go right ahead.

But....Jennings is owed $8.3 million. He's not worth trading assets for. Throw Detroit Kostas and Prigs for Jennings if Detroit sends us at least a second rounder and then only in a crunch.

Lin is a FA. But he's a high-turnover machine on top of being a bad defender. Love him. Especially like him getting to the FT line Harden-like. But until and unless he manages to learn to take better care of the basketball we can't have him and Harden on the same team.

Mo Williams is a FA. If we could get him for the minimum to be a backup playmaker then possibly ok.

Exactly. Filling the PG position with slightly better stop gaps is not going to get the job done.
