We made the ******* WCF. holy **** this place never ceases to amaze. We were arguably two healthy players from the finals.

    Good god.

He's also the guy that made the Rockets into the perpetual 9th place finisher to begin with. But, I agree with you. He's done a great job picking up Harden, getting Howard, filling out the roster and having a great run this year. I was down on Morey after last offseason, but he earned his cred. I am confident he's going to make more improvements this offseason and we'll take it to GSW next year.

He "made" us perpetual 9 seeds. I'm thinking you need some help with history. Losing 2 star players (and 1 for absolutely nothing) and still being a 9 seed is pretty darn impressive.

Morey is a great bargain shopper GM. He'll find you great under valued players and find value in them, only to ship their azzes off when it comes to actually paying them. Its a never ending cycle. We will not win a ring like that. Also, Moreyball needs to either go or be altered next year

morey gets props for setting up this roster and acquiring brewer/smith midseason, after a seemingly disasterous offseason last summer.

but he also must be held accountable for not adding a legit point guard at the deadline to help shoulder playmaking duties with harden. at the time, this roster flaw was very apparent to a lot of fans here. these trips deep into the playoffs do not come often, and morey's essential pass on this season in favor of flexibility and assets for the summer may have cost us a chance at the finals. for james that may not be so tragic, but for the older guys like dwight, not going all in 'pursuit' this season was probably a mistake.

    Huh?

The Rockets have gone from the 9th seed to probably the second best team in the NBA this season without 40% of their starting line up.

The Rockets should be even better next year with better health and roster flexibility.

The Rockets lost two games in the Oracle by a total of 3-4 points... down two starters....

We all pretty much knew that without Beverly, our PG's would get eaten alive by the Western conference guards in the playoffs. Heck, even as great as Bev can be on defense, his court vision and passing skills preclude him from being the starting PG if the Rockets want to win a ship... not to mention that he can't be relied on to make it through an entire season healthy with the way he throws his body around.

Now, Prigs was clearly mismatched going against Livingston but I doubt that Canaan would have been any better given his size... the only thing is that at least IC can at least hit a 3 pointer. OTOH, Prigs stepped up big to close out the Clippers, so you've got to give him props for that.

You shouldn't be upset about the Canaan trade, be upset that Morey wasn't able to acquire a starting PG all season when we all knew that was a huge hole for us.

We also won't win a ring by overpaying for mediocre players. You just end up like Brooklyn. And the only reason he was flipping players was because he didn't belive we were close to a championship. This stuff takes time. Quit being impatient and let the man get his contender team assembled. He's close.

Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady made the Rockets into 9th place finishers.

How weird is it that both those guys are younger than Pablo and Terry.

I've had my issues with McHale. I wanted him fired after last year's first round debacle, and was disheartened when Morey gave him an extension. However, I warmed up to him as the season went on and he kept the team chugging, despite having to constantly refit on the fly.

Now, the man has won me over. McHale's game plan against the warriors was sound. I admit he could have made quicker adjustments in games - and this is definitely one of his main weaknesses - but he seems to be improving as a coach as the team improves overall.

It is not unfair to say that Kerr is a better coach than McHale, but I think it is unfair to say he thoroughly outcoached McHale and the Rockets were thoroughly unprepared. The warriors simply had too much firepower and the Rockets couldn't overcome it. Health-wise, they were kissed by an angel this year and never had to adapt to losing any major pieces for any stretch of time.

Also, I don't understand why so many are complaining that we got dominated by the warriors. Granted, the 3rd game was awful, and the Rockets ran out of comeback juice in game 5, but we went toe to toe with them in those first 2 games, game 4 was a comfortable Rockets win, and had James won game 2, it would have completely changed the complexion of the series.

I am excited about the future of this team. This season and these playoffs have been a brass-knuckle bloodbath, and the Rockets' success and the lessons learned will leave the Rockets battled-tested.

This is gonna be another fun off-season ride, with plenty of roster upgrade potential, and I can't wait for next year.

I think people who don't appreciate Morey don't remember what it was like before him.

Fire McHale. Hold people accountable. The buddy system wont get you anywhere.

Find better 3 point shooters, and for the love of God a competent PG.

Or can't appreciate what we've done.

You look at Golden State and think MAN! Why can't Morey build a team like that!

And then you realize that the Warriors were hot garbage for years and are built around the 7th (Curry) 11th (Thompson) 7th (Barnes) plus a good hit in the 2nd (Green) and then 1 big trade for Bogut where he was being dumped.

The Rockets have been at 12th or higher every year, with most in the high teens. All while rebuilding after your two stars that he inherited broke down. Morey has never had a chance to do a complete rebuild with high picks yet has turned this team into a WCF team ENTIRELY on his shrewd maneuvers.

Nothing is guaranteed in the NBA bro. You keep playing with the roster each off season, the results will NOT be the same each year. Morey's great at finding undervalued talent. But eventually you gotta stick with somebody. One year deals, rookie contracts & vet minimums will only last for so long. Morey's gonna need to start paying ppl

Making the WCF doesn't justify that trade. Still think that Canaan was horrible.

Morey had a chance to go all in and failed

The NOP pick was very valuable at the time. Package it with TJ and some filler and you could have got a starting caliber PG
