Would be sweet as hell if we come back and steal this series. But unfortunately I highly doubt we will. I am hoping we do win the next 2 to force a game 7. But beating them twice in that loud arena will be a large task. They're dynamic in that building. But hey we have seen stranger things happen before, so we shall see. Let's Go Rockets!!!
Let's not get carried away. The Rockets need some of those guys to play huge. In Game 2, the Rockets got big games out of Dwight and James and a good performance out of T-Jones, but that was about it. Smith was horrible, Ariza was relatively quiet offensively, Brewer stunk it up, and the rest of the team did little-to-nothing while Golden State shot very well from the field....yet they only lost by 1. The Warriors' turnovers were certainly a factor, but it shows that the Rockets don't need to play perfect ball to win at Oracle.
I think the Rockets should look at it this way, Cherish the opportunity to make history instead or viewing as diggin them selves out of an 0 - 3 hole. They have an opportunity to stamp their team in NBA record books by coming back from 1-3 and then again from 0-3. Even championship teams come and go and often times are not remembered. How many world series champions have there been that no one talks about anymore unless they won multiple championships but everyone will remember the 2004 Red Sox. The Rockets have a chance to do this and along with taking it game by game, cherish the opportunity to make history.
it's not arrogant to acknowledge that Cleveland just shammed it's way through the most pathetic EC playoffs in a decade. Not since the Nets were making the finals has it been this bad.
Not just warriors fan, but most people are already talking about cavs-warriors. which is great when the rockets make this epic comeback.
I'd forgotten how bad the East was back then. The Lakers barely survived against the Kings(with some help from the refs) and needed a Game 7 OT win to make it back to the Finals....and then promptly swept the Nets. And the next season was even worse. The East was so bad that year that the Nets only lost 2 games en route to another Finals appearance. And the #1 seed that year was the Detroit Pistons....who were 50-32. Think about that. 50 wins getting you the top seed in a conference.
I suppose analytics dont deal with facts. But analytics are an advance view at statistics. 100% so far if you are down 0-3, teams have never won the series in the NBA. If we want to deal with facts, no one has come back for 0-3 deficit in the NBA. At no point did I say that we will lose or that I hoping we lose the series. I am purely responding to the thread subject. Based on the thread title, if I were the warriors, I would be feeling pretty damn good about my odds of being up 3-1 and having game 5 at my home court.
Yeaaahh. I want to believe as much as Fox Mulder. However, the NBA specifically has a page addressing this exact conundrum the Rockets have gotten themselves in to. It's not a pretty sight. I do believe that the Rockets playing at full potential could pull it off. They have a better team set up to beat this team than the Clippers in my opinion. But that's the mystery of the Rockets. Basketball is a mental game, and don't anybody here lie and say you know which Rockets team is going to show up to ANY game. That said, the Rockets have already won four elimination games these playoffs against tough teams, so who knows? After all, this exists: http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....-is-a-thing-rockets-live-to-play-another-day/
It would be awesome if you heard "The Rockets are the only team in NBA history to win a playoff series after being down 3-0." Ain't going to happen though with this Warriors squad, they are just too good. If a 3-0 comeback does ever happen it'll be a situation where an underdog took advantage of an injury perhaps to go up in a series 3-0 but the favorite eventually came back to win 4 straight.
I'll be in the uncomfortable position of cheering for LeBron, but I agree. The East is still a joke. I mean they played Boston, a limping Bulls team and a Hawks team without any true star power. I think the top four seeds in the West trounce this Cleveland team.
Do you forget curry's head shot? I know when I cracked open my head it took me months, to feel comfortable playing. It's definitely a scary injury and it will be on his mind especially when he drives.
Honestly, 0-3 is irrelevant now. It's all about coming back 1-3. You know why? Because what's the difference between us winning game 3 and lose game 4 to be in a 1-3 hole? It's the exact same. Only in that scenario no one would be talking about the odds of being down 0-3. With each win, the odds get a little better.
This. Honestly, the objective side of me knows that it's quite delusional to hope for a series win. But the fanatic side of me just can't give up.
