yeah i started that thread. but it had less to do with the rockets and more to do with a guy i was talking to that was so certain that the cavs could beat the warriors. i mean there is no question in his mind that the cavs and lebron will wipe the floor with the warriors. so i had to make a thread to see if i was crazy and get other people's opinions.
Frankly GSW and their fans have all the right to be cocky they are a dominant team that won 67 games with one of the beat shooters of all time on the team. Outside of the 1 st quarter GSW outscored Houston 93-83 so there's still reasons for their optimistic views
Did you see what Lebron did to MVP Derrick Rose a couple years ago in the playoffs? If he matches up on Stephen curry the cavs win the series.
What an irrelevant stat. All that means is that they had to come back by 22 and they only managed to come back 12. Take GS's best quarters out of Games 1 & 2 and Houston's up 3-1. "Outside of the first quarter" doesn't mean anything. Outside of Game 3, we've outscored GSW for the series. There's a good stat if you want to be all playful about it.
I've said this elsewhere about the "curse" of being down 3 - zip in a playoff series. Someday, a team is going to come back from being down 3-0 and win a 7 game series. Why not the Rockets? We've done remarkable, seemingly impossible things before. Look at the road to the '95 championship. Never give up. Never surrender.
Grizz, Spurs, Clippers, Rockets & Warriors would all beat any team in the East in less than 6. Guaranteed.

But we're farther in the hole then 19 down vs LAC. No basketball team has come back after being down 0-3, so our odds at that time were probably one in a million. Now that we're only down 1-3, our chances are probably up to 1%. 3% would be awesome! So we've won 4 straight elimination games - which is supposed to be a record. How about we make it to the finals, spot the Cavs 3 games, then come back to win it? That would be 11 straight elimination games - guaranteed to be a record to stand forever
Live and Die Clutch City, however, I live in the real world, not the Matrix. We had to score 45 points in the 1st quarter to hold them off. So good luck to tonite, but the Uhauls are already at the toyota center.
For us to win, we have to not only have Harden play huge, but Howard, Smitih, Ariza, Terry, Brewer, Prigioni, and Capela to play equally huge. That is not sustainable for the Rockets.
All it takes is for Curry to come back to earth and play like he did in the regular season. He has been unreal from behind the line and he is bound to come back to his averages at some point. Yeah, the odds are not in our favor but as others have said, win game five and don't focus on anything else for now.
