The Cavs as constructed would have no chance against the Rox. They would be eaten alive... Damn them Warriors..

Must be nice to be in East and have Lebron. This was the East's chance to get there... His team will only get better.

This also makes me envious of what these teams are able to do. Let's hope Rockets can make some sort of miraculous run.

I've said it in the GARM, I've seen a few people say this.

I know it's a Rockets board but can someone explain how the Cavs are scrubs compared to the Rockets?

Yeah the East sucks, but how can you discredit LeBron? No one else in the league can do what he has done if they were in the East this year. Injured Kyrie, no Love. Game-winner v. Bulls to tie it 2-2 instead of going down 3-1 and finishes off the series with 3 wins in a row. Sweeps the Hawks by utter domination. Yeah maybe a healthy Durant or Harden can get to the finals, but not like how LeBron did it. Cleveland is the #1 playoff defense and they have a new identity. He makes everyone better; look at J.R., Shumpert, and Mozgov.

The East's only chance was a Lebron injury. Otherwise, none of the other teams have what it takes.

Somebody tell Chris Webber, who is looking forward to the "former MVP vs. the current MVP", that one series isn't over yet. What an idiot.

They aren't. However they're a better matchup for us. Hurt Kyrie vs Terry would be the only problem. Howard could abuse Mozgov and Perkins. Smith and Jones could probably get the best out of Thompson and also the big man rotation of the Cavs isn't superb. Ariza and LeBron is a great matchup and Harden defense isn't so much of a problem with him guarding Shumpert. Series would probably go to 6.

Damn the Warriors? Damn health for Beverley and D-Mo being out. With those two guys it would be us that's up 3-1 or 2-2 at minimum.

The great thing about this is Reggie Miller has been eliminated from commentating games. That's the biggest news.

The only issue would be Lebron guarding Harden. Lebron's quick enough to stay in front of him, while also having a few inches on him. We would need a guy like Ariza or Prigioni to step it up for the series (a la the Clips series).

Kyrie hobbled is better than Terry; maybe a minor advantage conservatively. If Kyrie is 80% he is a major advantage there (big IF).

Howard 'abusing' Mozgov is a strong word; that's a strong understimation of Mozgov on defense but Howard is definitely an advantage nonetheless. BTW, the entire Cavs defense really flipped when they picked up Mozgov.

Thompson is a monster rebounder and picks up enough points on the move. His offensive rebounds are incredibly valuable. He's no shooter like Josh Smith though. There's another issue I'll mention later...

Ariza on Lebron is a good matchup? Then you have to say Shumpert is a good matchup against Harden. I think the gap between Lebron's offense vs Ariza's defense is greater than Harden's offense vs Shumpert's defense.

IMHO the Cavs are a better rebounding team between Mozgov, Thompson, and Lebron. They are also better on defense. You can say the Rockets faced better offenses, but there were so many games and moments where they just didn't get back on transition and were flat out beat on INBOUNDS plays after scoring, the thing I complain about the most in the GARM. The Cavs will not do that, period. The role players on the Rockets are wildly inconsistent; Cavs are not so far. And as good as Harden is, I'd still prefer Lebron to lead my team right now.

That's not to say Houston isn't better which I don't expect to convince anyone here. But at the very least this is a close matchup.

Cavs would rather face the Rockets.

Wariors are simply too explosive for Cavs over a 7 game series. And they're deeper.
