Why get another new player next year when you are trying to get this team to gel with the players that they already have! And plus, you have free-agents like Shandon and Mo who are expecting big contracts at the end of the year!

You know, Peter Vescey's name has zero credibility here. You're not off to a good start on this board.

Webber is the best powerforward in the league.

Of course we could use him!!!!!

Taylor is a decent player. But Webber gives you so much more.

Why would anyone ever dislike Peter Vescey, his speculation is always dead on? [IMG]

CWebb is just what this team needs. A consistent scorer, who can do everything well and play tough inside.

I think he meant SG, in reference to Mo's preference to taking the outside shot and supposed lack of rebounding skills.

Wouldn't it be cool, if we got CWebb then they could play a post game, as well as a running game. I'm sure CWebb would relish the chance of playing with a better PG who can pass better and not shoot so erratically.
But how do you think Mo would feel if we got CWebb? Less minutes for him..
    C - Webber
    PF - Mo Taylor
    SF - S Anderson
    SG - Cat
    PG - Franchise

    Bench - WW & ... ???

I know everyone will disagree with me but I actually think Mo has a lot of potential and could end up being another Karl Malone!(no that wasent a joke)

Dont forget he is only 23/24 years old and he is still improving and I still cant see his lack of defense and rebounding.Maybe at the begining of the season but not any more!

But still I like CWebb [IMG]

Not that anything Vescey did could elevate him above child molester.... but he was ragging on Bill Walton today. Is it OK that I laughed at something he said? I feel so dirty.

How can you say that we don't need C-Webb? We have no dominating post player, Mo is basically a 6-9 SG, he's not a good defensive presence or rebounder. That is why we need a guy like C-Webb if we want to have a chance and compete in the playoffs in the West.

I may not have been here long, but I know the ropes a little, word of advice. If your username is: Karl Malone, Scottie Pippen, Peter Vescey, Jerry Sloan, Phil Jackson, David Aldridge, or John Stockton, everybody will ignore anything you say and just tear into you. You could have a valid source and tell us we're trading Walt Williams and Kelvin Cato for Tim Duncan, Brian Grant and a #1 draft pick in a 4 way deal and people STILL would tear into you. Just thought you might like to know that.

I assume you meant PF, and Mo has done a solid job defensively the past few months. He did a solid job of controlling McDyess last time the Rocks played. And Chris Webber is also 6-9. 6-9 PF's are pretty much the average. Karl Malone is 6-9, and Brian Grant is 6-9, so is McDyess in fact. Mo has done a pretty good job on the glass as well. I think the Rockets need to take that money and go after some role players (Ruben Patterson, Antonio Davis) to sure up the other positions instead of risk losing Mo, Dream, and maybe Shandon for a slim chance of getting Webber.

Hi, This is David Aldrige reporting:

I have to agree with my highly respect colleague about Webber. I do not think the Rockets need Webber next year. They need to move Francis at the two and Mobes at the one. Renounce the rights to Shandon and Mo. Jason Collier and Dan Langhi are ready to fill the starting lineups. Then they need to sign Hakeem to another 7 year maximum contract. With a lineup of
    Hakeem
    Collier
    Langhi
    Francis
    & Mobley
they would be ready to challenge anyone in the league.

I have also heard of rumors of Rockets trying to trade Steve Francis and Picks for Damon Stoudamire and Scottie Pippen. Portland however, is being stubborn and insisnting that they include Matt Bullard in the trade.

    More news as it develops......

I would take webber over mo, but i would not mind just staying with our current lineup and just add a couple good draft picks and maybe a veteran big man.
