The Rockets can beat this team. The team probably feels like they *should* have beaten the Warriors tonight. I think they will have a ton of confidence going in to Game 3. I understand why the Rockets pushed it instead of calling a timeout. I like the move, even though I screamed "TIMEOUT!" at the TV initially. The Warriors have great D so I liked trying to get something going immediately in case they had their pants down. I just wish Harden would have called a TO instead of throwing it to Dwight after the easy bucket was not available. I am not going to beat him up about it, though. Harden was fantastic tonight. Time to hold serve.
This was the lesson 20 years ago. Dont expect help from the refs. Out execute the other team and you will win. It should be noted that The Mavs in the 2005 Playoffs accused Yao of setting picks without being set. After that they called yao on every moving pick. The Rockets cannot get past all the grabbing and moving screens it is ridiculous. The team isn't going to make excuses but I bet you they call it different in Houston.
Man, it's not even help... don't need help, just need right calls on BLATANTLY obvious stuff. I agree though, we fight through and we win.
We didn't collapse, and showed a lot of poise and will. This team has grown over the course of the playoffs. James has really stepped up as a true leader. It's almost unfair that the game was lost in his hands, but he was just amazing. I am proud of the team, and I still believe!
Game 1 had terrible officiating. This game didn't seem that bad. The Rockets showed great heart just like when they were down against the Clippers. Maybe the national media will start giving these guys some credit now.
If you sat on your couch in early October clinging to the hope of Jeff Adrien and Ish Smith, you should have plenty of pride right now.
I have been critical of James' play at times, I guess I have unrealistic expectations from him, and it's crazy because sometimes I expect James to just transform into a demi-god and will us to wins by himself *which he has done at times*. I guess I must have forgotten that We have a runner-up MVP, 2 time first-team All-NBA, 2nd leading scorer in the league *1st in total pts* stud that's only 25 yrs old! Yet I sometimes get my head so far up my ass that I question his greatness, what he has done this season and these past 2 games has been nothing short of spectacular, yes we lost both games but he has absolutely shown the world that he can go toe to toe and out-duel the "MVP" and a historic 67 win team and almost singlehandedly will his team to a victory TWICE. Hopefully he can give us more jaw-dropping performances this series, but even if he doesn't I will eagerly await what else The Bearded assassin has in store for us next season.
Very proud as well, a lot to be learned from this experience already and the series is far from over. I think the Rockets are also changing opinions around the country and around the league because we're showing our true values. Bodes well for player recruitment and FAs too.
James Harden showed me his heart tonight and it was bigger than everyone else's on the court. We took an unconscious advantage despite the scoreboard tonight. The Warriors should be concerned. Two games is nothing when you believe you can win.
Older cats will remember this statline...49/25. That was Dream v Seattle in a loss that displayed his true dominance and greatness. Watching Harden reminds me of those performances and gives me hope that we will eventually get over the hump. Harden was unstoppable. Unflappable. Undeniable. We are watching James rewrite his narrative as "can't come thru in big games" James. This loss will transform Harden into a champion.
Damn straight, the referees are fine, they are letting both teams play though Warriors a bit more than us. I sure am proud, can you imagine had Harden made that pass to TJ and we would've won on a game winning dunk. People would have been all over Harden since he got the triple double on the pass and had a monster game.
I agree 100 percent. Dude is not even in his prime yet. One game I see JSmith and I hope he isnt with us next year and they next game I hope for an extension. He plays with my emotions. I think the refs killed us in these first two games. We need a young point gaurd badly but regardless of what happens in this series our younger players are getting experience and I see Mchale growing as a coach. I havent given up hope but regardless our future looks very bright.
