Giving Kostas his first meaningful minutes in over 2 months in the WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS is definitely not ideal. Veterans get nervous, and do things that are out of character.....look at Blake Griffin. Imagine the kind of pressure K-Pap would be under trying to hang with the likes of Draymond Green, David Lee, and Mareese Speights. That would be disastrous. Terrence Jones simply needs to sack up and play like his basketball life depended on it.
I feel like we could have won that game easily had we went small when GSW put Green on Dwight. I feel like Dwight would have ate him up if he were healthy. But obviously that wasn't the case. McHale needs to go small with them to limit runs.
I actually support this train of thought. I liked what Kostas brought on the defensive end and adds the extra dimension of being a decent shooter. If this team needs anything, it is someone that is willing to put it on the line and Kostas has been a hustler earlier in the season.
Knowing Clutchfans, if Capella goes for 20/20 Clutch will be merging all of the "Trade Capella Now" and "Sell High on Capella" threads.
Jones will be alright. It's only one game in which a lot of our players didn't do much. Kostas will not be getting any playing time unless we are getting blown out or we are blowing the Warriors out.
Kostas is one of the single worst shooters on the Rockets . . . it's been a long time since November.
Kostas was a TERRIBLE shooter for the Rockets and he hasn't played a meaningful minute in months. The idea that he should suddenly get serious minutes is laughable.
If Howard is out, we're left a lot of extra minutes to absorb. If we need another body to absorb some of those minutes I would greatly prefer Papa to Joey against a team like GS that requires speed and versatility to defend. It would also be nice not put in a guy that could make a FT. Regardless, my hope is Capela will absorb most of those minutes, since he was only play 8 minutes/game before Howard got hurt.
i really dont understand how much love this guy gets everytime i see him play, he turns the ball over a ton. And he hasnt shot the ball well either. I can tell that he has a good BBIQ and has a good feel for the game but it is laughable to ask him to play huge minutes.
Considering how much pain he was in, hard to see him coming back in 48 hours. Sat may be more realistic. But a knee sprain is not a minor injury. Coming back too soon has backfired on many athletes (see RG3).
I was going to say WTF is Kostas. Man, completely forget about him being on the bench. Yeah, throw him in, why not.

Have they ever said what grade of sprain Dwight has? From a few Internet searches on MCL and other knee sprains: Recovery times differ depending on the severity of the injury: A minor, or grade 1, MCL tear can take from a few days to a week and a half to heal sufficiently for you to return to normal activities, including sports. A grade 2 tear can take from two to four weeks to heal. A grade 3 tear usually takes from four to eight weeks to heal, unless it is associated with damage to the ACL, in which case the recovery time may be longer. It would seem if this is a grade 2 or higher he runs a risk of a complete tear until some healing occurs, but I'm sure someone with medical training on this board could comment further...
Never thought I'd say this, but we need Joey Dorsey. If Howard's not gonna play, and GS goes small, we need someone with the ability to move his feet, defend & keep their bigs off the boards. Capela will need help and I've lost all faith in TJ
