I'm proud that their effort is there and they're playing on a much higher level now than vs. the Mavs and early Clips series. They just need to rebound better and be even smarter on offense. This is a great Warriors team, but the Rockets can be equally great when playing consistently smart. Need more fockass.
Agree with you all. We came out in this game exactly as we should have against the Clippers, and as a championship team must. We're just in the difficult situation of being up against a team that will beat you if a couple of things go wrong. For me, those things were mostly Jones and Howard. To win a championship, you have to play fierce defense from the opening tip, and you have to attack the basket, not settle. We did both of those things. If we can bolster our talent level and have slightly better luck with injuries, this is the kind of play that will win us a championship. If not this year, soon. P.S. Clint Capela! I'm no longer afraid of the post-Dwight era.
Love having Van Gundy call the game. From the get go he mentioned how Houston is missing DMo and Beverley and not using that as a crutch. Then we lose Howard down the stretch (and he had 13 boards!!!) and still compete until the end? We have nothing to lose. They have everything to lose. Go Rockets.
I came in the forum after the loss expecting bandwagoning trolling threads but thank god. Couldn't agree more op.
Ugh! Jones and the missed bunnies will be the death of me. (all of us) Really worried about Dwight's knee, but hopefully he can pull it together.
Defense is very much about energy. We just finished an intense three game fight back two days ago. We've been flying between Cali and Houston nonstop. I am proud that the Rockets even were able to put up so much fight this game! Kudos to them!!!! Keep the Red Flag Flying High!!!
Very proud of this team.... Worse comes to worse, this season the Rockets have 1) made the CFs 2) came back down 1-3 (2nd time in franchise history) 3) had a historical comeback in an elimination game (game 6 vs LAC) Season isn't over yet, but H has already made a mark this year Now we just have to avoid losing vs GS in less than 5 games
If you play 8 on 5 in a game of basketball, 9 out 10 times, you're likely going to lose. It's not about needing the refs help, it's more about calling it fairly. GS got some bs ticky tack calls (were fouls, but ticky tack), but for those same types of contact (or worse), the fouls weren't called. Just make the calls consistent, and many wont complain. It's the inconsistencies that's annoying.
Someone is going to have to convince me one day that the 2014-2015 Warriors are not a carbon copy of the D'Antoni Suns
And then there was that tackle-screen by Green on Ariza. Mark Jackson: "You gotta call something there one way or another." A ref was standing right on top of that. Bizarre. Refs weren't the reason we lost. Lack of Dwight was. But there were still some suspicious plays. Like when Curry flailed after finishing his follow-through on the tear drop, and they called the "push" on Terry. OK then.
