Great to hear.. I'll have to get cable TV this year if they start playing more Rockets games especially on ESPN
that makes sense. Even though yao is the "future", which isnt the case, its Yao and Steve, to put it straight deep down inside us who is more fun to whatch, a outside guy who can do some kool plays or a center whos slow and only does post up moves.
It's amazing that a game between the Rockets and Nuggets HAHAAAHah is going to be shown on national television.....but of course, the Rockets and Nuggets both have added players and it should be interesting to watch these two new teams play for the first time with their newly made up teams. Denver might even beat us...
You can still download and play the NBA on NBC before the game, I have http://www.ilovewavs.com/TV/Sports/Sports.htm
The more exposure the better. I'm with you blu_monkey on the Channel 51 re-broadcasts. Win or lose, I somehow end up watching the games again. Bring on the season!
Nice..this is great news for our friends outside the Houston area.. not so great for those of us who like to hear Calvin and bill call the game.. Unless they show it locally and on cable(ESPN & TNT) Are all the national games shown only on those two channels? Or is one of the major networks (ABC,NBC,CBS) going to have them also at some point in the season? oh, and for the record...I'm there to see the Rockets..
Of course, but there is no denying that Yao Ming is the reason for the extra publicity, and alot of fans nation-wide will be tuning in to watch Yao, more than anything else.
this is a good thing, steve always gets up for national tv games, but maybe thats because we had so few last year. And yao had some of his biggest games on nat tv. (dreamshake pacer game, dallas game)
Thats good...the only games that i remember not being shown on 51 last season were the ones on the major networks.. When the games were on TNT or ESPN, KNWS was showing them also. Hope that continues this season.
That is awesome...Finally getting the exposure they deserve, and it showcase the TC and Franchise and Yao... The only thing now is to step up and make the playoffs...
The only thing I'm worried about is the NBATV crap. Many cableTV companies don't have that channel, even you subscribe the NBA League Pass. I live at Chicago and I'm thinking to switch from AT&T cable to Direct TV to catch the NBATV channel, though I heard Direct TV's quatility isn't good.
it's meaningless until you consider the fact that this team exists to put asses in seats and bodies in rockets wear. if they don't make money, no team. if they make LOTS of money, they have more reason to do things like go over the cap to sign more talent, so this kind of thing is very important.
It just sounds like style over substance to me. I used to hate the over-hyped teams, I never thought we would be one of them. Give me Clutch City anyday.
Do they count NBA TV as national TV? NBA TV is not on my league pass last year. Does anyone know whether it will be changed for this year?
Sorry, but very soon when people think Houston Rockets they will think Yao Ming. Two years ago they would of thaught Steve Francis. Last season and this season they think Steve Francis and Yao Ming. Franchise will give way to Dynasty in time. In time farhan007 you will realise that Yao Ming is a very versatile player both insde and outside, both in offence and defence. Last season he was subject to conditioning himself to the regimen of the NBA Game both psycologically and physically.
