This hurts really bad. Now we HAVE to go out and get another starter. Please oh please for J. Vazquez.
ESPN Insider apparently said we were interested in Livan Hernandez. He pitched 9 inning tonight before losing.
Jeff Weaver, Livan Hernandez or Jeff Suppan. If the astros acquire a starter it will probably be 1 of those 3
Exactly, if it is going to cost us someone like Ensberg, then I say **** this season and let's get everyone healthy for next year. Hell, our starting rotation has been kickass for a long time even with these injuries. It's the offense that has been ****ty lately. I say let Rodrigo Rosario come back and replace Roy, and go from there.
we are talking about minor leaguers most likely. I don't see the astros giving up Ensberg for anybody. Think about it. Who else has 19 homers and makes 300,000 bucks for the next few years
For some odd reason I think Jeff Weaver would turn it around with the Astros and pitch good. Livan Hernandez's arm has to be ready to fall off. That arm has to-many innings on it
Ready to fall off? The guy, if he hasn't lied about his age, is not even 30 years old. He came out in like 1996. He's having a better season and he's cheaper.
With that many innings I just don't feel comfortable with his health. I have seen alot of great young Marlins pitchers get injured because of all the innings they pitched. I would just be very weary...
well we picked up Dan Miceli from the Yankees...not exactly what i was hoping for, but at least we are trying to wheel and deal. "Does the fact that I'm trying to do it for ya do it for ya?"
Surgery? For a pulled groin muscle...what are you smoking? He just needs to rest it. Unless it is a mild strain which in that case he needs to suck it up and pitch. DD
Actually, Oswalt said when he went on the DL the second time after the Yankee no-hitter that his groin injury might be the type to require surgery because it could be reaccuring. He opted for the cortisone shot in hopes that it would take care of it. It didn't, so it's likely he's out for the year.
Livan probably did lie about his age, he is more like 32 then 28. But thats not important, he is a great pitcher for a playoff contener, but i don't think Houston is a good fit. Jeff Weaver sounds good to me
