Correa with another double in the 9th.

3 for 5 on the evening (two doubles).

Carlos Correa is up to his usual antics again... he just hit an RBI double.

Can't wait for Correa to get up here... and will be very interested to see where Hinch slots him in the lineup. I am thinking either 2, 4, or 6.

Anybody thinking Appel may never make it to the bigs? No big deal because baseball draft picks are such a crap shoot, but it's surprising how much he's struggled in the minors.

It's still too early to consider Appel a bust.

He may never be the TOR or ace pitcher that he was drafted to be. But could be a #2 or #3 pitcher in the rotation.

The draft is crapshoot, but that's why you have 50 picks and any of them could eventually make an impact.

Corpus and Frisco are tied at 13 in the 12th inning. Tony Kemp, Doug Brocail, and Hooks manager Rodney Linares all got tossed in the 11th.

Telli, I appreciate the minor league updates, I really do. So please don't take my comment on not caring about Singleton the wrong way. I'd rather see him on a hot streak right now than struggling, but until he shows he can hit MLB pitching (consistently enough to stay in the big leagues) I'll take a wait see approach with him.

Thanks again for all of the updates!

He will definitely pitch in the majors at some point (barring injury) even if it requires him getting thrown into the fire without ever really having sustained success in the minors.

I do think the chances are increasing that we see them take a hit on his value, and package him in a trade at the deadline though.

He's at the point where he's no longer an essential piece of our future. It's a matter of perspective whether that's a good or bad thing. I'd consider big league significance from him a bonus for us right now, just like I did/do Singleton after the Carter explosion of last year + the Gattis signing in the offseason. There are plenty of realistic paths to having a sick 5-man rotation for the next several years that don't include him.

God, 4 more more scoreless inning for Daniel Mengden, scoreless inning streak now up to 25. Figure a promotion is coming soon.

I'm beginning to seriously wonder if his problems are more between his ears than anything mechanical. Typically I do hate speculation like this, but his makeup and intestinal fortitude have been questioned in the past. A quick google search for "Mark Appel makeup" leads you to a number of past scouting reports that are not encouraging.

Tyler White has a .505 on-base percentage for Corpus Christi, which would top the Texas League if he had enough plate appearances to qualify for the league's batting title. Tony Kemp is the actual leader at .468.

White and Kemp have both drawn 22 walks; that leads the Hooks and puts them in a tie for 6th in the league.

I would not be shocked if White forces himself into the Astros plans and becomes their long term (3-5 years) starting third basemen. He just knows how to get on base at such a high clip.

The door opened for him after Colin Moran went down and he's just demolished it.
