First Two years with the Rockets

almost 18 pts / 7 assists first year

The Rockets now would sell their souls for a point guard like that

The starting point guard for the two times in my life that a Houston team has won a championship. Major respect for Kenny no matter what his opinions may be

I feel like 95% of the people that are hating on Kenny in this thread werent really around to truly experience those early 90's Rockets.

And if you were around, and are still hating on him, then I'll buy you a new set of panties once yours get untwisted.

Look at dream, clyde, Horry, tmac, elie, bull, yao, sampson, they all had a hand over the years in their support for the rockets. Yeah Smith is honest, but what an ass for being a supporter bandwagon style to a team that he won rings with. I don't support him at all.

Now that I think about it, I would criticize Dallas fans for booing Terry after all hes done for them and GSW fans for booing their owner and legends because the traded Monte. Is it the same thing we are doing to Kenny? He obviously said it himself that he didn't like or root for our team before they made the comeback... Are we as short sighted or is this different? Honest Question.

Now that I think about, I agree with you. Everybody is welcome on this train, especially a 2-time champion Rocket- I think only Hakeem, Horry, Cassell, Elie, and Kenny are in that group, right? Clyde, Otis, Vernon, Herrera, Brooks, Chilcutt, Earl Cureton, Chucky Brown, Larry Robinson, Chris Jent, Zan Tabak- all one-timers, right?

Read what Hippie wrote and it will help you be at peace. Everyone on those Championship rosters are Rockets for life.

Even Sam Cassell sitting on the Clippers bench.

You've changed your mind twice in this thread, lol. Stop getting swayed. Your initial opinion was correct.

Wow what's up with all the hate? Is Kenny now a quitter too and he can't rejoin this 'precious' houston fanbase? F all that! Thanks Kenny for saying we will win game 7, love what you did for us in the 90s and for giving us some praise and positive energy going into Clutch City lll gear on Sunday!

Sorry Kenny, that seat you are looking for on the Wagon is reserved for a real fan.

You don't get to turn your back on the team when they go through some lean years and try to call yourself a fan once again when the team is on the cusp of returning to the WCF.

Go cheer for the Clips or go nurse off of Lebron's or Steph's nuts but you are no longer wanted in Red Nation.

2-time champion Rocket needs to have more respect for the Rockets.
The Rockets are bigger than "The Jet".

The reality is that it doesn't matter as we won't be on TNT again this season.

You guys are too hard on Kenny. He was the vocal leader on our championship teams, and he was responsible for giving the inspirational pre-game pep talks, which were often very good. He was like a de-facto captain of the team, in addition to the fact he was a solid player.

Then, he was unceremoniously released by the team 1 year later. Not to say there weren't reasons for that, but imagine how you would feel if you were layed off from your job 1 year after achieving the pinnacle of success. I'm not so sure you would keep actively rooting for your former employer to succeed. At best, you would probably realize it's a business and be indifferent. Just like Kenny.
