Old video, saw this awhile back. Pretty cool though, and the message is true. The year before, the Oilers blew that big lead over Buffalo

 

Commercial would be considered insensitive today for provoking suicidal situations

 

That's me as a fan and probably others after game 4, with the radio guy saying he got fouled when we made our comeback in game 6

I remember shortly after we won the title they modified the end of the commercial, where Gif Nielsen catches the anvil and says something like "Choke City? I don't think so!"

speaking of nostalgia for the old school boys - does anyone have a copy of the image of the rockets championship lineup as kids? The cartoonish one where the jerseys draped over them?

This is so true. If anything I think it speaks to how communication has developed and technology has made our world smaller. This commercial might have offended some back then, but there wouldn't have been any medium to communicate it. Nowadays a few people can have such a loud voice through social media. Pros and cons to technology advancements I suppose....

 

The player air scare was pretty good too.
