ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Clippers 5/14/2015 (Playoffs Round 2, Game 6)

Definitely won't count this as the Rockets winning the series, but the effort, heart & defensive laziness that the Rockets showed has done a total 360. I'm proud of them, win or lose.... I feel proud to be a Rockets fan. Feels great.

 

When you factor in the extra days rest, the clippers might be the favorites. Consider the fact that they have not had two days off in over 3 weeks since the playoffs started. The rockets have had an extra 8 days rest since the playoffs started so this extra days rest means a lot more to the clippers than it does to the rockets.

 

on the flipside though, our best player might actually be able to play this game with 3 days rest…….favoring clips in HOU is quite strange imo….maybe they know tony brothers' flight plans

Crazy stat.

Of the 40 points scored in the 4th quarter, 39 were scored by player that weren't on the team last season.

Smith, Brewer, Ariza and Terry combined for 39 points while Howard had 1 point from a free throw..

HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?!

 

This win was both frustrating and gives everyone hope.

Frustrating in the sense that we all know what this team is capable of. If they put in effort, hustle, determination, make the adjustments on time, no team should be able to blow this team out like Clips did in games 3 and 4.

Hopeful in the sense that we know what this team can do when locked in. This is one of the deepest teams in the league. In fact our first 7 are better than any in the league.

Having said that, you play all season and finish2nd exactly for this. Home court in game 7

The thing that i'm most grateful for - is that this win has given the players the belief.

If (heaven forbid) they start out lackadaisical and playing subpar Rockets basketball, they know they can win the game.

But I'm hoping the opposite is true and they realise just how stifling that defense was to the Clippers - and play more of it from the offset.

Go for their throats early. Kill any ounce of believe the Clippers have left in themselves. They're demoralised. Do not give them the opportunity they gave us.

 

It opened at a pick em and moved to the Rockets being +2

We were +8.5 last night for what it's worth.

 

Finally had a chance to watch the game as I was away with some business.

Just speechless... I think I teared up a bit at the end, it was such a gutsy and inspiring comeback.

The only downside was having to listen to Jon Barry. It was nice hearing him eat crow at the end though.
