I'm from Vancity and I'll tell you guys this. This team has given up on this season, as they are already looking forward to their new environment..probably New Orleans next year. Rumour has it that the team has sent in a request to move the team for next season. Every player on the team doesn't want to be in Vancouver. Therefore they ain't playing worth dick for this season. To show you guys the type of attitude we now have on this team..imagine 12 players who all think like Steve Francis did when it was announced he was the Grizz pick 2nd overall..scary huh? ------------------ Go Grizz!

IMHO, the problem has more to do with bad managerial decisions and team chemistry than the city itself. Hindsight is 20-20, but the Grizz took Reeves @ #6 (right behind KG). Drafted after Big Country were Stoudamire (7th), Kurt Thomas (10th), Theo Ratliffe (18th), Ostertag (28th) and FINLEY (21st). Imagine how much different VC would have been with Garnett! It does look like the current Grizz team has packed it in and is just going throught the motions. It's a sad thing to watch even if they are the competition. ------------------ GATER

It's not so much the city the players don't like but high taxes are a huge problem for pro athletes these days. As an ignorant man once said, "It's cold, it rains a lot, and they take all your money" when describing Vancouver. That's the percepton out there and for some players it is true. One thing that I think is overlooked as a big problem in attracting players here is that there are no brothas and sistas here. The population lacks a lot of black people which might make the player feel somewhat uncomfortable. I say the Grizz gets The Dream to bring some respect to this organization cuz he does spend his off seasons here and I'm sure he'd like to play in Vancouver. But u guys ain't getting Reef in exchange..I'll just put an end to those rumours right here. ------------------ Go Grizz!
