I wonder what Germany and France would do in the event of their own 9/11 . I'm sure they would return to lax security. It's nice that they are able to take advantage of the situation. They should thank us.
Surf, you are going to see more and more of this. The world doesn't like a bully who feels they are above international law. I have seen articles that American products and especially famous American brands like McDonalds, Nike etc. are being hurt overseas, although they are trying their best to distance themselves from these policies.
Actually the U.S. isn't the top healthcare in the world. There are several other countries with longer life expancy, lower infant mortality rate, and great coverage than the U.S.
I didn't say that the U.S. had the best healthcare system in the world, did I? Your act of putting words in people's mouths is getting old.
This has nothing to do with the healthcare facilities themselves, nor is it any reflection on the medical talent in the United States. Both of these are top notch. Your statistics and the spurious correlation that you drew, are more a reflection on socioeconomic status.
You are so right Jorge. The Us have absolutely top notch medical facilities and talent. But theese are only for the elite of american society (and rich foreigners) to utilize. Edit: That´s why there are countries with better "health care ratings".
What?? Did you read the article? It has nothing to do with the USA being a bully, and has everything to do with stringent security measures....................."They can fly in and out of Germany without any problems and don't have to worry that a nail clipper in their bag is going to raise eyebrows," Loening told Reuters. "No one is going to anger them at the airport and their privacy won't be intruded upon." I guess I shouldnt be surprised that once again you take a jab at the USA. Here`s a thought Glynch, instead of constantly bickering about how bad things are, go out and run for office and change things.
I didn't say that you said the U.S. had the best healthcare system in the world. Your act of claiming I'm putting words in people's mouth is getting old. Here's the logic trail of the argument. Sorry if you feel I'm putting words in your mouth. You said something about letting them pay for lesser health care. I just pointed out that they could still avoid the U.S. and pay for better healthcare. It addresses your point, and doesn't mean you claimed the U.S. had the best healthcare in the world.
You don't think infant mortality rate, doctor to patient ratio, are factors relating to healthcare? America is one of the best, in some specific cases the best. But it's not the best in the world. As for the socioeconomic status that may play a factor in healthcare. The U.S. is made up of people from various socieconomic status. Now if only some of those people receive the top notch health care, that would mean that the U.S. doesn't have the best health care in the world. I'm simply saying that the Saudis can go elsewhere and get top quality healthcare.
Our govt. said Al Qaeda may be planning more airliner hijackings to use as WoMD later this summer. I think what we will see are knives made from a heavy, durable plastic-like substance which hi-jackers shove up their butts. Then, they pull them out of their butts once their on the plane and hi-jack the plane. So, I'm recommending enemas for all Arabs prior to boarding the plane in addition to all the other security checks. "Please understand that we place security above all else...and thank you for flying American Airlines! Have a nice day!"
You are becoming odd. Anybody who reads this thread will see that you were refuting my post with irrelevant information. Stay on topic or please dont waste bandwidth with your strange retorts.
I was refuting your post. That's correct. Your post said let them pay for lesser healthcare. I was merely pointing out that it doesn't have to be lesser healthcare. It was on topic, and accurate regarding your statement. It's not irrelevant. It's fine to accuse me of being odd or anything else you want, if you don't have any counter arguments, but don't expect it to help you win your case in the debate.
You are becoming a little Glynch like. If you are going to refute what I said, you need to stay on topic. In this case, you needed to compare the German healthcare system to the US healthcare system. Since you didn't, your retort was irrelevant. Comprende??
I did stay on topic. The original report mentioned avoiding the U.S. Germany was one instance. I pointed out that they can easily avoid the U.S. and still get quality healthcare. It was relevant and on topic. Entiendes?
What a total complete and utter crock of ****. There's absolutely no place for mindless hyperbole like this in a serious discussion.
Oh please.. what is your point. Are you saying it´s not true? or do you think it´s irrelevant? I was trying to shed some light on a matter that was being discussed by two other members of the forum. Please don´t talk about serious discussion when you seem to not be able to take part in one.
