Who is this guy putting up borderline MVP numbers?

    James frigging Harden.

so shut it with the critique. Sure he's turning the ball over 5.5 times a game, that's what happens when your GM cripples you with ZERO help on the wing. Guy's facing constant double teams every frigging game and people, much less suposed Rox fans, are ragging on the guy? Do ya'll love your Dork Elvis that much that you gotta put the blame on the guy who's responsible for us even being here? Your wunderkid saddled Harden with PGs and SFs who suck so much that teams can just double Harden without any consequence.

But but but his passion! Or something like that!!

Nevermind the 7-8 teammates that aren't pulling their weight or stepping up in any way!

clutchfans are full of idiots. he's having a great playoffs. 40% from three on over 6 attempts a game! of course he could be doing a bit more but he's not to blame. its not his fault everyone keeps standing at the 3pt line, or the defensive gameplan involved s**tons of switching, or the refs let the other team maul him in the paint.

harden killed it in both rounds. what about ariza huh? give him a free pass with his 20% 3pt shooting cuz of his "defense", even though clippers had b2b 120pt games lol. but harden gets no free pass even though he's having one of the best playoffs in the league, wow. clutchfans logic

Too bad whoever he is guarding is probably putting up similar stats

Barnes had a good game 1, but has missed 13 of his last 18 shots with zero threes since then.

Harden has been pretty good on the offensive side. I'm in the minority that think he played mostly in the right way and I have stated that I prefer higher assists # than more shots at lower % made from him.

Where he is utter crap, as with most of his teammates, is defense but it really does start with him when playing the Clippers. And this is nothing new. He simply doesn't have the tool set to guard fast 1 and 2. There is a reason why we so often get historic performance against the Rockets in the past 2-3 seasons from players that you wouldn't think could put up such stats.

Its the team defense thats killing us, not any individual. most NBA players can go by their defender no matter how good the defender is. the key is if the defense can rotate and turn the open shot into a contested shot. one on one defenders are completely overrated and useless imo. I'd rather have 5 guys focusing on the ball on defense than one dude trying to be Wolverine and completely ignoring the team game.

He would be averaging 14 assists per game if mofos could hit an open shot.

I love this line of thinking, even though he really hasn't done much stat padding when the game is out of hand.

But it's really just revisionst thinking. If the Rockets make any kind of push to get back in the game after being down huge, we wouldn't call them garbage points we would say they were essential to the comeback, but because we continued to let the game slip away they are somehow meaningless. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

When I say garbage time points I'm thinking of the last couple minutes of a blowout game where the teams have both just stopped playing defense. I'm not really sure Harden has gotten any of those points this series.

Agree with OP. Harden is taking too much blame for this abysmal playoff series.

Terrence Jones and Josh Smith have completely disappeared and Coach McHale has been out coached.

    Josh Smith vs LAC in playoffs: 6.25 PPG/6 RPG/.221 FG%/.067 3pt% /.521 FT%/1.5 TOPG/18mpg

    Terrence Jones vs LAC in playoffs: 9 PPG/ 4.75 RPG/.346 FG%/.000 3pt%/ .667 FT%/.75 TOPG/23 MPG

    Corry Brewer vs LAC in playoffs: 8 PPG/ 3.25 RPG/.335 FG%/.125 3pt%/.125 FT%/1.25 TOPG/ 26 MPG

    Trevor Ariza vs LAC in playoffs: 15 PPG/ 7 RPG/ .426 FG%/ .300 3pt% / .869 TF%/ 2.25 TOPG/ 38 MPG

The only thing that I wish was better was his minutes per game, and obviously he doesn't have control over that. But sitting him out until the 6 minute mark in the 2nd and 4th quarters is damning in close games.
