ClutchFans Game Thread: Clippers @ Rockets 5/12/2015 (Playoffs Round 2, Game 5)

Don't see any surprises coming

Rockets had a great season in a really tough Western Conference.
However, I think DH12 is not meeting expectations (again)... it wasn't LA it was Dwight... Harden is a beast but his supporting cast is uneven.

Unfortunately for Houston, Clippers have gelled amazingly in past weeks, and their bench has stepped up beyond expectations.

Vegas has Clips as 2 point favs, I think that is very conservative. No disrespect, but I think Clippers win by 10 or more.

 

Hmm, before the Rockets play hard on defense they have to first start playing defense.

 

Anyone else oddly excited for tonight's game?

 

All I care about is one stat, one stat only, Harden's shots. If he doesn't take 25 shots, for sure, we will lose. Everything else is what it is.

 

Matt Barnes on Dwight Howard fined $15K: "He hit me pretty hard. With all the money I've been fined for, unless somebody really tries to hurt me I just got to look the other way. Barnes says it's easier said than done looking the other way after Dwight Howard hit. He was fined $15K: "Very much so especially for me."

Barnes on Clippers frustrating Dwight Howard: "Its part of the game, period. Everyone's got to stay mentally locked in. He didn't do a very good job of that last game.

 

I want to see some ******* heart. And I want to see someone bring the fight to the Clippers the way they've been bringing it to us all series. Put Paul on his ass and make him feel that hamstring. Make Austin Rivers regret EVER doing the "cooking" gesture. Make sure Matt Barnes has to go apologize to his teammates for being a *****. I'm so sick of watching gutless, spineless, heartless, directionless basketball from the Rockets. We've given exactly ONE HALF of inspired basketball in this series. That number needs to be THREE after this game.

 

Matt Barnes needs to STFU. Dorsey needs to go in and take this clown out.

Absolutely pathetic. And I'm not even talking about Matt Barnes. I'm talking about the fact that some two-bit role player can get into the head of our $20 million center in the Western Conference Semifinals, and get him to lose focus. Dwight should be embarrassed.

 

Hard to imagine anything but a 20 pt loss.

I can't believe the spread is only Clippers by 3.

 

We will be fooled tonight. We are going to win tonight only to go back to LA and lose there.

I still have hope but they have not shown anything that has me believing they can turn on a switch and go into beast mode and win it all. They look deflated.

 

yeah he should. at the lack of fight much of teammates have failed to show in this series.

 

I say we win if the refs let Harden get to the line. If not, we're blown off the planet 5 minutes into the 3rd.

 

Lose the series fine.. but don't lose it at home. LETS GO ROCKETS

 

Needed Starters for game 5 Spark

Johnson - Defend Redick
Harden - Defend Barnes
Brewer - Defend Paul
Ariza - Best Defender for Griffin
Howard - Beast Mode

Bench Brigade: Terry, Jones, Smith and maybe Prigs

This can cause a spark, open the lane as Griffin must come out on Ariza and allow driving dunks/layups, alleys and with the open lane maybe we see a glimpse of regular season greatness from the BeardedOne.

Can we please not let everything go in the 2nd quarter like every game??

 

All the Xs and Os don't mean a thing if the team does not come out and play for pride in this game. Enough is enough giving up the most pts in b2b games should be the wake up call this team needs, I hope it is not too late for the team to get back on W side of column. All will be known tonight from the start of the game IF the team will fight tonight or just come out for the slaughter.

 

Both 2nd & 3rd quarters.

 

I like this better compared to what I thought would work by just starting JSmith instead of TJones, Brewer SG, Ariza SF, Howard C, and Harden PG.
