It's on the coaching staff to make things easier for Harden. They have no gameplan but to hand Harden the ball and have him try to beat double teams constantly and create offense for the team.
Interviewer: What do you have to do to win game 5? McFail: You know *studer studer studer* uh play better. WTF Fire this joke of a coach.
I wonder if we can talk Rick Adelman out of retirement? Rick you know you want to coach Corey Brewer again..
That owner doesn't exist. Les inherited a team that won in '94 and '95. Charlie Thomas was the owner in '86 and the Maloof family, Yes the same family as the recent Sacramento Kings owners, owned the team in '81.
haha so true. Any half a decent coach can win 50+ games with a line up of ours. I mean come on we have Harden and Dwight for F**k sake! He's a terrible coach! He needs to go to Pop and work under internship for 10 years and maybe just maybe he'll become a modestly average coach.
If they stay with McHale next year, it would be similar to if the Texans wouldn't have hired O'Brien last year and stayed with Kubiak.
McHale's been highly valued and praised by Morey as a player recruiter. However the players McHale has recruited are getting demolished by the Clippers right now. So how much value is there really in McHale's recruiting? I think you could get more value from a coach who is a tactician, defensive mind, etc... Regardless, today's NBA has 2 main recruiting ploys. 1) Money- Houston in Texas (no state tax) will always help and 2) Super Teams - Players follow winners to try and win a championship. We can't compete with Spurs and other glamour teams in this area. Harden never and Dwight recently haven't won anything of value to entice players to come. So we're stuck with only money. All that said, it's clear McHale's value as a recruiter actually provides very little real value. So little it doesn't make up for his other serious flaws.
I usually don't regard much about this thread. But I changed my idea after today. Let's push this thread to one million views before the dawn.
where are lars and those other cowards calling people that called this "bad fans" and leaving cowardly rep?? Show yourselves.
Same here. The playoffs are a different beast. You can only game plan for your opponent so much during the regular season. It takes on much greater importance in a 7 game series. A team with a talented roster can ususally do well in the regular season, but you need a good coach to excel in the playoffs. McHale is failing miserably now that a good coach with at least equal talent has the time to really focus on us. It would be one thing if we were just losing, but we're getting destroyed. If we were just losing, I might find it acceptable to bring him back. But the way we're losing, it's hard not to be convinced that McHale will never be a championship level coach. I doubt he gets fired though.
Aside from Dwight, who has McHale helped recruit? Brewer was acquired in a trade. So was Terry. Smith came here because he's buddies with Dwight. Who does that leave? Ariza? Meanwhile, Parsons left. Bosh turned us down. So did Melo. So did Lowry. McHale has very little value as a recruiter. And even less as a coach.
The point was, it would be so deflating to start a new season with McHale, the same way it would have been deflating to start this past Texan season with Kubiak running the show, b/c you know what you're going to get.
