I don't know what bothers me more. Losing to the Cubs having to listen to the seemingly endless Cubs fans at the game today. Even comments like, "Hey! Your team's still in 3rd place!" didn't seem to phase them. Stupid Cubs fans.

Who is worse, all the Scrubs fans that come here (and act like Sosa is God every time he comes up to the plate), or all the bandwagon Bravelettes fans that fill up MMP on a consistent basis?

Ok I have been very busy the last couple of days and have not been able to post. But I have a few rants that come out of this series. First, and this was covered above but wanted to get my 2 cents worth, correct me if I am wrong but isn't Zaun supposed to be the offensive C for this team. The problem is that his offense isn't much better than Ausmus. So what we do is give up our defensive stability (Lofton would not have scored on a PB) to play a guy who can't do his job and get a hit. Please cut the guy already.

Second, I had the luxury of watching the sunday game courtesy of WGN. By the 4th inning I was ready to puncture my eardrums so I did not have to listen to Chip Caray and Steve Stone any longer. First off they act like the viewer has no baseball sense whatsoever or either the viewer has no short term memory. Lance Berkman got on base twice. Both times they said this exact thing "Lance Berkman doesn't have good speed. He's decent but he probably will not steal a base." I can understand saying it the first time but repeating the same thing over 2 innings later is just ridiculous. I also enjoy hearing at every batter after the 5th inning that "This guy (insert name of Astro here) is the key out in this game". They said it for almost every batter from the 6th - 9th innings.
This also brings me to my second point. They are the biggest homers EVER!!!! I expect some homerism from them and that is fine but they are blatant about it. I can count on one hand how many times they said positive things about the Astros, inversly it was about the same number of tiems they said bad things about the cubs. Evidently no one on the Astros can do anything well and the Cubbies have no weaknesses. I honestly believe that if Houston weas 160-1 and Chicago was 1-160 and they were playing in the last game of the season with Houston leading 20-0 after the first, that these guys would still be talking about how great the cubs are and how bad the Astros suck.
Along with that it seemed like they turned the crowd off when Corky Sosa was announced. What I mean is either all the fans stopped booing him yesterday(hard to believe given the way they treated him Friday and Saturday) or the crowd noise was reduced so you could not hear the boos on WGN. Another good example of homers.
Don't get me wrong, the Astro announcers aren't perfect but I would be willing to bet they had a lot more positive things to say about the cubs than the two cub idiot broadcasters had to say about Houston.

Hey Castor, I noticed that too. The booing level from the fans was much lower than it was the previous two games...(I watched WGN yesterday).

I dont get it with zaun...both our catchers can't hit s***.

I got tired of listening to them too, so I turned on 740 (i was in college station) and listend to that with the tv on (tv sound off).

I got a little annoyed with Milo at the end of the game yesterday. He was complaining about the poor start we got from Robertson. Cut him a break Milo, he had won nine in a row. He was due a stinker.

And really, Jimy saw it coming pretty early and got him out quick. Good move considering he had the luxury of a day off tomorrow so he could really use the bullpen however he wanted. And honestly the only thing about the game yesterday that really pissed my off was that we didn't just pound lumps on Estes all day. In the same week, we let him and Glendon Rusch totally shut us down. We haven't scored more than three runs in a game since last Sunday at Cincy. Offense needs to get rolling starting tomorrow night. After seeing the performance of the Braves' pitchers over the weekend, we just might get that jumpstart.
