I will be traveling to Denver this weekend to scope out the area close to downtown. Are there any particularly good bars to check out to watch the game? Thanks guys.

beware: Denver does not consider NBA more important than MLB and NHL. There is an NHL playoff game at the same time. Good news is the Rockies game should be over by then.

Do you know Denver that well? Look up the Wazee and Wynkoop streets for Union Station places...and near Coors Field. There is some really good micro brews and other places.

I recommend calling first to make sure the place you choose will have Audio for NBA as well as NHL playoffs.

Great point with the NHL never even crossed my mind. This will really be the first time in Denver I have read alot about the different areas as I plan to move there in August. Im assuming you have spent alot of time there?

I live in Boulder. Basically, I'm describing the Union Station and Five Points area.

I don't really know Denver that well though. Others can give you more specifics on best TVs and such. I pretty much stick to Boulder and the mountains, unless there's a game or concert to go to.

There are lots of bars around Coors field with dozens of TVs, they will definitely have the game on, it may just not be on every TV. But places like the Viewhouse, or Blake Street Tavern will definitely have them on, they have like 50 TVs. Breckenridge and Wynkoop are 2 breweries that I think have more TVs than most too. Like Heypartner said, Wazee and Wynkoop, also Blake street. Everywhere from Union Station to Coors field and Five Points, there are tons of bars.

I watched one of the Rockets/Mavs games at a bar in Coors Field, during a Rockies game, so it's not like you won't be able to find the game.

Also Brooklyn's near the Pepsi Center, always has every game on, but thats a little bit of a walk

Lol. I walked into this divey bar called Sliders in Fort Collins for game 3 or 4 against Dallas. They had 30ish tvs in the place, all on hockey. I go up to the bar, ask if I can turn on the game on one of them. She says, yeah, we've got a tv in the back you can use. :)

It worked out though. It was a nice little lounge with a big screen and big Jenga.

wrt to venues next to Coors Field ... keep in mind the Rockies game will probably be around the 8th inning at the start of the Rockets game, and it's a Friday, so expect Blake Street Tavern to be packed with Rockies fans, NHL fans and just your regular TGIF Happy Hour goers ... none of which will likely care about the NBA game.

Just don't go to Tom's Urban..

I tried watching game 1 vs the mavs there and they changed the channel to hockey and baseball multiple times

A simple request of mine to get the game back took over 30 mins. Missed the whole first half pretty much
